A/N
I just want to note, I'm not following the same plotline as the original fanfic for X-Chara. It will be different as you'll see here.
ALSO HAPPY 7TH ANNIVERSARY TO UNDERVERSE!!!
...
When X-Chara sent the array of small red knives hurtling towards Cross, the guard gasped and quickly raised his arm. Thankfully his magic worked even within his mind, as a wall of bones rose to shield him from the incoming blades. It failed to snap the chain tying him to Chara, apparently having no effect on the links. When he let the bones disperse, Chara didn't look too frustrated by the matter.
"Go ahead, Cross. Give it all your might. You'll need it," Chara told him, lifting his arm high. He outstretched his fingers as the hilt of a large blade came to rest in his palm. It looked like Cross's large knife, yet it gleamed bright red. Chara held it fast. "Being all alone in that heart locket, I've had so much time to strategize. Every single plan designed to bring about your end, of course," Chara explained with a light cackle. His cruel laugh sounded nothing like Nightmare's, and Cross despised it.
He let out a frustrated yell and sent a wave of bones flying towards Chara. He easily twisted his wrist and swung about the large blade to deflect each and every one. "If you actually want to hurt me, you'll have to find a better way than that," Chara taunted before he stabbed his blade downward. It struck an invisible floor, the tip plunging into the shadows. Cross heard a loud crack.
"That can't be good," He whispered to himself. From around the edges of Chara's knife, the black void they hovered in started to turn corrupt. Red lines broke out around Chara, fracturing invisible walls. It sounded like snapping ice, and it just kept spreading out all around them. "What is this?" He questioned, spinning himself in a circle. He'd never seen an attack like this before. Not from Chara or any monster.
"I told you already. I had a lot of time to myself. That heart locket was a void of its own. Obviously I know how to manipulate a realm like this in my favor," Chara told him, pulling his blade free from the black floor. He pointed the sharp edge in Cross's direction. He stood his ground, refusing to let his fear show. "Let's see if you can handle this," Chara mused as the red cracks began to glow.
Cross wasn't sure what to expect. His sockets shot wide at the sight of more glistening red metal. Much more. Red knives were looming within the corrupted fractures, and every single blade pointed at Cross. "Chara-" The second he spoke the child's name, the blades shot towards him. Cross managed to swerve midair to avoid a wave striking his chest, yet in doing so another line of blades reached him from behind. He let out a cry of pain as a blade jabbed deep between his spine's vertebrae. "Damn you!" He yelled, another knife striking his shoulder blade. He may be able to best Chara in the waking world, but here, he was nothing in comparison.
Chara let out a small cooing sound as he used that red chain of theirs to pull himself back over to Cross. "So you're not so tough after all. That's really boring," Chara told him in a mockingly sweet tone. Cross gave him a glare and attempted to stab a bone into Chara from behind. Somehow he predicted the attack and leaned out of the way before he could be struck. "If you can't even protect yourself, then obviously I deserve our body more than you do."
"Screw you," Cross growled out. Chara's response was to grab hold of the blade stuck within Cross's shoulder and twist it even deeper. He gasped, inhaling a staggered breath as pain overwhelmed him. His vision started to blur. He tried his best to keep Chara away anyhow, holding him fast as he again reached for their soul. This time, Cross didn't have the strength he needed to toss him aside. Before long, Chara snatched up the soul, dragging it right out of Cross's ribcage. Like when Error had extracted his soul in the past, it hurt quite a bit.
