The air was thick as August was upon us. Summer was drawing to an end and we would be knee deep in Fall before we knew it, we'd be wrapped up in knitted scarves and hats.

Soon Blake and I would be starting college, which was a crazy though, it feels like just yesterday I had locked myself in my room screaming for Blake to go away.

I smiled to myself at the memory my feet continuing to make their way down the paved path. Today was the college orientation so Blake, his Dad, my Dad, and I had made our way to the school to attend the meeting.

"Hey, wait up!" Someone called from behind me. I looked over my shoulder to see Blake jogging to stand next to me. The dark grey shirt he wore was tight against his chest making it more pronounced.

"Why are you walking so fast?" He asked a little out of breath. I smiled at him when I felt his fingers intertwining with mine.

"Well if you must know Blake," I started, "I am making my way to the appointed hall for this freshman orientation. We don't know where it is and it starts in 7 minutes. Excuse me if I want to walk a tad bit faster."

Blake chuckled to himself at my attitude but stayed silent. He knew that I despised being late for any occasion.

Blake and I walked hand in hand, our fathers trailing at a fair distance behind us. They were in their own little world as they discussed important older man things.

Summer had come and gone too fast, although there isn't much I would have changed. Blake was a, how do I describe him; he was like the eye in the middle of a hurricane. Blake had come at a point in my life where I still struggled with Logan leaving, but Blake was there in the middle of all my petty turmoil and made me forget about all the problems which surrounded me.

And as we searched for this building, hand in hand, I realized I wouldn't have changed this summer for the world. Even with all of its lows.

After many wrong turns and a little asking around we finally found the correct building that the gathering was being held. Blake walked a few steps in front of me to pull the door open.

"Why thank you! Such a gentleman." I mocked in a high pitched voice. Blake smiled and shook his head as I walked past him and into the air conditioned building. A gust of cold air hit my face as I entered the room. The polished floors shined brightly as fluorescent lights reflected off of them. I stood by myself for a moment fidgeting with my fingers.

It was so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that I was on the verge of starting a new chapter in my life, and if I'm being honest its scared me to death.

"You gonna be ok?" A voice broke me from my trance. I turned to see Blake standing next to me with a concerned expression etched into his features. His eyes moved back and forth taking in my terrified figure.

"Um, not sure." I barely whispered.

Blake cocked his mouth up into a half smile. He lifted his arms from his sides, extending them to take my much smaller frame into his large embrace. On instinct I immediately hugged back burying my face in his chest. Inhaling his calming scent, I let my muscles slowly start to relax.

I wouldn't be starting this journey by myself, I would have a loving and caring boyfriend to walk right beside me.

"Ok, enough of this. Let's go in, find a seat, and meet our new classmates." Blake pulled back and grabbed my shoulders. I smiled up at him and giggled. Blake, always the go getter.
