A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?
~ Albert Einstein

When I woke up this morning my body felt heavy with sweat. My sheets were all crumpled in a pile at the edge of my bed, my limbs slung in every direction.
I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes, with a slight yawn that grew. I looked outside my window to our little fenced in yard. The grass needed cut and the garden needed weeding. With a growl I flung myself out of bed.

The house was quiet so I assumed everyone was still asleep. I tiptoed ever so slightly to the bathroom. Once I made it to the door I slid through the tiny crack, trying minimize the amount of movement due to the fact that the door makes loud creaking noises every time it moved.

Finally safe inside I cross the tiled floor to the shower and turn the water on. I turn back around to the mirror and take my hair down from my messy bun and rake the brush through it getting every knot out.

"Done" I sighed to myself feeling the relief of not having to pull at my hair anymore.

I felt the water one more time before I slipped my large shirt off and climbed into the shower. As I stood in the shower I let my thoughts loose. Taking a shower was like a therapy session for me, and hosted by me. I let my mind wander from what my plans were for the day to deep secrets that i keep locked up. Just depending on my mood.

All was quiet and peaceful, nothing but the pitter patter of the water as it spat out of the shower head.

BANG BANG BANG

Or should I say was peaceful.
"What do you want?" I yelled from the shower.

"Its me!" Clayton replied. "Mom says you've got 5 more minutes!"

"Grr cant you guys leave me alone!"
"But mom sai-"

"I know what mom said!" I cut him off "fine im done." I mumbled as I turned the water off.

I stepped out and grabbed my towel that hung on the rack. I dried myself and wrapped the towel around me, brushed my hair out once more, washed my face and walked out of the bathroom.

"Finally!" Clayton sighed as I turned the corner to our room. I pushed him into the wall "ow!" he yelped as he grabbed his elbow. I gave a slight smirk and closed the door in Clayton's face.

"So what do you plan to do today?" My mother asked as she dished out some of the scrambled eggs onto her plate.

"I dunno. I was thinking about texting lauren." I shrugged and continued to play with the toast crumbs that dotted my plate.

"Oh! I figured you would be hanging out with Blake." My mother suggested making sure to drag out the name Blake.

And thats when something went off in my head and I let it all loose "No im not hanging out with him today, no we are not together and finally I DEFINITELY do not like him! Gosh, he's just a friend." I blurted out frustratedly answering all of my moms unasked questions.

The room grew quiet, only the sound of mouths slurping coffee, and the rustle of paper was to be heard.

"Im sorry I shouldn't have snapped." I mumbled an apology. My mother nodded in acceptance.

'Hey wanna go shopping?' I texted my best friend.

'Yeah sure, let me change and i will be ready.' was Lauren's response.

I put my phone back in my bag. The breeze blew around me. I let my feet rest in the little pool.

Needing some alone time I had rode my bike to my little paradise. My chest rose and fell with every relaxing breath I took. Hair lay in every direction against the grass, my eyes wandered the sky, they searched for answers. I let my brain take control and my thoughts soared.

I inhaled the fresh air one last time before I got up and headed back towards home. I needed to get ready to go to the mall. I grabbed my bike and hopped on.

The ride back was nice and calm. When I got to my house I was shocked to see Blake in the driveway. His hands were firmly placed in his kaki shorts
" Umm hi?"" I greeted as I jumped off the bike seat.

Blake kindly waved back, "Hey!"
"Did you need something, or someone?" I asked.

"Oh, uh yeah, my mom needed flour so I walked over here to get some. I was actually just leaving when you came back" He explained. I nodded my head. " So, where are you headed off to?" Blake continued.

"Me and my friend Lauren are headed off to the mall for a girls day." Just as I had said that Laurens car pulled up behind me.

"Hey! Move your fat butt!" Lauren called from her car. I shook my head and laughed as I walked my bike up the drive.

"Is that your friend?" Blake asked, with amusement heavy in his voice.

I looked at him and smiled, "Sadly yes."

" Soooo, who are you mr.?" Lauren questioned as she walked up beside me.
Lauren is my best friend, and has been for as long as I can remember. Her full name is Laurel Nelli Nathens. But since she is stubborn and difficult she likes to be called by Lauren. She is my age and just a hair shorter than me. She has brown hair that is cut into a cute angled bob.

"I'm Blake" Blake held out his hand.
Lauren gave a half smile and took his hand, "Lauren." she released Blake's hand, "So you ready?" Lauren asked turning towards me.

"uhh, yeah. Just let me go put this away." I stated gesturing to my bike. I turned towards Blake , "I will see you later?" I smiled at Blake.

" Yeah, see ya!" He smiled in return.
I waved goodbye and headed towards the back of the house. I placed my bike along the wall and walked inside with Lauren tagging along at my heels.

It was now lunch time and were exhausted after all of the shopping that we accomplished already each hand had at least 5 bags. With our tummies growling we had decided to head to the food court. She wanted Chinese and I wanted chick-fil-a so we parted our separate ways and met back up at a table in the middle of the room and grabbed an empty table.

"So tell me," Lauren mumbled, her mouth full of Chinese food, "Whats this Blake kid like?"

I chuckled at her 'get right to the point' attitude, " He's nice. I mean I consider him a friend and we have hung out for a few hours. I can see us becoming close friends." I stated picking up a waffle fry and plopping it into my mouth.

Lauren shook her head, "You know, he isnt that hard to look at." she stated rather nonchalantly.

"Excuse me?" I responded dumbfounded.

"He seems like he's your type, you know what I mean?" Lauren continued completely ignoring my comment.

"Woah! Hey, when did this topic turn to me! I dont like him and he doesn't like me either! We are just friends!"
Lauren held up her hands in a mock of surrender, "Just stating the facts here." she finished her face still lacking any emotion.

I just rolled my eyes and continued to eat.
