Chapter 23
Dally's POV
Today is the day. Man am I nervous. I would have never thought I would actually marry someone. However, here I am about to ask Rose to marry me. I just hope she says yes, if she doesn't I don't know what I would do. I already talked to Pony and Johnny about what I'm gonna do and the rest of the gang. I also asked her mom if I could she was over joyed and said I could.
The plan is while Pony, Johnny, and Rose are at the movie house Me, Soda, Mia, Steve, Ava, Twobit, Emma, and Darry are going to drive to the beach and set up everything. Mia will be the one taking the pictures and everyone else will be hiding behind Darry's car.
I got everything we needed to set up and we all took Darry's car to set it up. When we all got to the beach everyone started taking things out the car.
I was deep in thought when Soda bumped me. "Hey, you okay, you look deep in thought."
I shrugged. "I just am nervous, I never thought I would be doing "this" man." I said waving my hands in the air.
He put his hand on my shoulder. "There's nothing to worry about, everything will be okay."
I smiled. "Thanks...now come on let's set up man." I said getting out the car.
A few hours later we finished. There was rose peddles in a heart and a small table for us. Darry made us food earlier, so we could have something to eat. There were candles everywhere and, in my pocket, I had the box with the ring in it. Yesterday before Rose called, Mia gave me the idea to get Rose a charm bracelet with the initials "RW" for Rose Winston. The box for that was on the table under my napkin.
It is now 4:35pm. I need to change and pick up Rose.
Rose's POV
When the movie was done Pony and Johnny walked me back home. I said goodbye and went straight to my room the get ready for my date with Dally. I didn't want to dress up too much, so I just showered and changed into my plain black long sleeve shirt with my black, white, and red skirt. I put on my white converse and pulled my necklaces from out of my shirt. I fixed my ring and brushed out my hair. I curled it and put on some perfume.
