Y/N'S POV

07:37

Monday, the dreaded day that heralds the beginning of yet another week.

Today, I reluctantly dragged myself out of bed at 6 in the morning. Since I moved to a place further away from school, waking up early became a necessary evil to ensure I arrived on time.

Sitting in the front passenger seat, I observed the world passing by outside the car window. The landscape was painted in hues of morning light, while the music delivered a comforting melody into my ears.

As the song ended, I snapped back to reality, realizing we were nearing the school gates.

"And how's the adjustment been going?" Happy inquired, his attention still focused on the road.

I removed an earphone, letting it dangle from my left ear.

"It's been alright," I replied with a nonchalant shrug.

"Did you like your new roommate?" He let his eyes rest on me for a brief second.

"She is... a special case," I replied, stealing a glance at Tzuyu through the rear-view mirror. Her head bobbed with the motion of the car; it was surprisingly cute.

Happy let out a small sigh.

"Well, I hope it's not too overwhelming for you from here on," He remarked, braking as we approached a red light.

"And look at the bright side, you'll be done with school soon, one less responsibility, right?" He turned to me; his gaze fixed.

"Peter is already scouting universities. I think he might have even applied to one," he added.

"The light's green," I interjected, disregarding his attempt to steer the conversation.

He quickly refocused on the road and pressed down on the accelerator.

"Have you spoken to him?" he prodded, stealing a sideways glance at me.

He always tried to ensure I didn't lose contact, perhaps assuming Peter was my only remaining connection. But so far, that wasn't true, and I hoped it stayed that way.

I mentally rolled my eyes, hoping he'd grasp that I wasn't keen on discussing the topic. "Not really," I replied, turning my gaze back out the window.

"Why not?" His tone carried a hint of concern as he glanced at me again.

Shrugging once more, I fixed my gaze outside. "I don't know... I just don't feel like it," I confessed.

"Well, if you ever need advice about college, you should reach out to him," he suggested as he parked the car in front of the school.
