CHAPTER 8

LOCATION: 9201 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11209, United States.

I crouched in my usual position on the edge of the railing that surrounded the roof of the building we were on. I looked towards the street, the darkness enveloped everything, with only the moon casting its soft glow, barely illuminating the pavement. Dim yellow lights from street lamps dotted the sidewalks, providing minimal visibility.

The sidewalks were empty and the street only had 3 vehicles parked on one side, no near vehicles driving.

'Those cars must belong to the guards who keep watch inside the bank' I mused, my eyes flicking between the parked vehicles and the bank's interior.

The luxurious bank had its walls lined with large windows that reached from the floor to the ceiling on each level. Despite the darkness, I could make out the silhouettes of guards patrolling inside, their movements visible only by the glint of flashlights and the occasional gleam of batons.

A tap on my shoulder broke my concentration, and I turned to find Momo's face peering at me.

"Don't get too close to the edge. They might spot you," she warned, gripping my arm gently.

"Oh right, sorry," I muttered, stepping back from the railing.

The building we were in was a type of company, its floors occupied by offices. Fortunately, they were vacant at this late hour, allowing us to set up here unnoticed, not to mention the good view we had of the bank.

We were all standing and attentive here, preparing our equipment except for Dahyun.

Dahyun's voice crackled through my earpiece, a faint buzz in my right ear. "I've already connected to the bank's cameras, no unusual movement so far."

She was in a ban not that far away, but close enough in case she had to go out and help.

Her expertise in all things digital made her our eyes on the inside, scanning the bank's layout with her extensive surveillance setup.

The latter's voice came back through the earpiece.

"Chaeyoung, I need you on the roof of the building that is on the right side of the bank, there you will have a better view, the windows are more exposed"

"Understood," Chaeyoung replied and walked to the edge of the building from the back.

With practiced precision, she drew her bow and loaded it with an arrow that had a string attached to it. With a swift release, the arrow found its mark, securing itself to the ground. She tied the rope securely around her wrist and began her descent down the wall.

"And what about us?" Tzuyu asked through the earpiece.

"Not until I detect unusual mov-- okay, now you can come in," Dahyun sighed, the poor girl couldn't even finish her sentence.
