Y/N'S POV
"We are following a breaking news story." The voice of a stern man echoed from the speakers, his face grim and serious across the screen.
"A high society gala rocked by an explosion when it went off at Park Avenue and 68th Street tonight"
A video of police cars and flashing lights outside a grand hotel appeared on the news.
"The cause of the explosion is still under investigation," the reporter continued. "But witnesses captured cell phone footage of a masked assailant fleeing the scene."
A high-quality video was shown on the screen; a person covered from head to toe in a bizarre outfit, jumping on top of cars to save a dog stranded in the street.
Then the screen went dark.
"A ninja saved a dog, or that's what people think." Fury's hologram spoke, his harsh voice slicing through the silence of the room.
"Your mission was to be at the party. What were you doing chasing a dog?" He turned his piercing gaze to Dahyun.
Dahyun's heavy eyelids snapped open, her head tilting slightly. "H-how do you know it was me?" she stammered.
Her eyebrows knitted together. "That person was completely covered; it could have been anyone!" She snorted and leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms with a huff.
Fury hummed, nodding slowly. "I don't know, maybe because the video's outfit matches the one you're wearing right now or..." He paused, his glare intensifying. "Maybe it's because of the dog that's sitting on your lap!"
The dog whimpered, burying its head in the crook of Dahyun's neck.
"Shhh, don't yell at him. He's tired," Dahyun snapped back, frowning at Fury while gently patting the dog's torso.
Fury let out a deep sigh and looked back at the rest of us. "Not only that, but you guys also completely failed your mission!"
"What are you talking about? All the civilians got home safely!" Nayeon protested, almost leaping out of her chair, her hands slamming onto the table.
"All? And what happened to Armand?" Fury's gaze shifted to me.
I shrank in my chair, my heart pounding.
"Y/N, can you remind me what happened to Mr. Duquesne?"
I forced myself to meet his eyes, my stomach twisting with guilt.
"He was murdered..." I whispered, quickly looking away.
"He was murdered!" Fury's voice echoed my own words, but louder, filled with anger and frustration.
"And not only that, but they also stole an extremely important watch. Plus, the damage you caused: windows shattered, trees uprooted, ceilings caved in..." He trailed off, exasperated.
Jihyo tried to interject.
"Mr. Fury--" she began.
