Chapter Six

Annie's POV

I pulled Lindsey from the Box and she started pondering me with questions, "ANNIE!" She yelled at me, "What is going on! I don't like this Annie!"

"Listen to me," I whispered into her ear so no one else could hear me, "You're in the Maze Runner, I know I know, hard to believe. But do you know that day that you asked me if I could be in any book series? Well the next morning I found myself here in the Box."

"Annie that was last night!" She said in a hushed tone.

"Yeah well it's been a year and a month for me,"

"Oh gosh," she said, "oh gosh oh gosh this cannot be fucking happening,"

"Shucking," I corrected.

"What?"

"Shucking, we don't cuss in the Glade. We make our own cuss words up." I explained.

"I forgot about that,"

"And another thing is, you can't say anything about your past or the future for the Glade. You can't say anything about what's going to happen in the future books or change what's going to happen."

"I've only read the first book so that won't be hard," She said.

I saw the boys coming over from the corner of my eye, "We'll talk more later," I told her, "don't say a word about you know what,"

She nodded and we turned to the boys. It was Gally, Newt, Alby and Chuck. The boys different faces were a sight to see: Chuck was just happily walking along with the three, Alby had a confused look on his face, Newt looked like he had just been exposed to sunlight after being in the dark for so long and Gally looked like he was going into battle but knew that something good was going to come out of it in the end.

It's crazy what you can see from one expression.

"Hey Annie," Newt said, coming up to me, "you alright?"

"Yes actually better than alright," I said then pointed to Lindsey, "this is my sister, Lindsey,"

"Sister?" Gally gagged.

Well that's another one to add to my list, I thought, night Newt and Gally gagged.

"How are you related to her? You look nothing alike," Gally continued.

"They both have red hair," Chuck noted,

"Yeah, red hair and tall, that's it." Gally said.

"I see a resemblance," Newt started, "sort of,"

"Thanks Newt," I said then looked to Alby who had been quiet this whole time, "what are you thinking Alby?"

"Oh just about how we're going to have to rearrange the rooms again."

And again we were talking about rooming except that this time I was one of the ones making decisions. Also I could talk and not get yelled at, even though Gally always disagrees with me anyway.

"Okay hear me out," I said eyes turned to me and sat there expectantly, "Newt can switch into Gally's room and room with him and Lindsey and I could share a room-"

"Not going to happen," Gally interrupted as usual.

"Look Gally I know we don't get along that well but it's just for sleep, it makes sense to have the two sisters sharing a room anyway." Newt explained.
