I went around basically trying to make everything perfect! It's my baby first birthday. Everyone was here, my family, Ayo's family, our friends and their kids. The party was a Disney land princess theme, a large bouncing castle, Starbucks stand, tables filled with goodies, candy stands, everywhere was pink and cute!
It took me a week to plan mostly because I wanted Amaya first birthday to be the most perfect! I left Amaya bouncing with other kids and went to meet my friends.
"Hi baby mama" Sean smile as I plop on the space beside Steph. I scoff, "I swear if one more person ask me about Ayo whereabouts I'm going to lose my shit!"
"Ayo isn't here yet?" Steph ask me.
Sean gave me a Starbucks strawberry drink. I accept it with an even bigger smile, "Thank you." I shook my head, "I've been calling him since morning." Ayo was not just pissing me off he was irritating me as well. He hasn't been home for almost two weeks, I know he was busy with shows and all that but him missing his only daughter first birthday was fucked. When I told him about celebrating her birthday he gave me the go ahead but did nothing to help.
"Not that Aaliyah is he still coming?" Steph repeats like she was trying to understand as well. I drank a good portion of my drink, "I don't know, I mean that man wished her happy birthday through FaceTime!" I shook my head. As if he knew he wasn't going to come his nonchalant ass called on FaceTime, if it wasn't because it was Aaliyah birthday God knows I would've cussed him out!
Steph shook her head, "That's fucked."
"He's been busy with shows Aaliyah, I'm sure he wouldn't miss Amaya birthday" Thyra says with so much certainty. I roll my eyes, "Oh please! Ayo who misses his own party sometimes? I wouldn't be surprise if miss the party."
Sean rub my legs supportively, "The day is still young Aaliyah, I'm sure he'll be here."
I roll my eyes and kept drinking my juice. If Ayo doesn't show up he might as well not come back home! I look at my daughter happily running around with her friends. I sigh, "I don't understand what's happening with Ayo, sometimes he's so attentive other times he acts like he doesn't care!" I sniff back tears. Nothing would break my heart more than Ayo not sharing in Amaya's joy.
Steph rub my shoulders, "Don't cry Pooh, niggas ain't shit."
"Stephanie!" Thyra slaps her legs. "Hey!" Stein rubs the spot glaring at Thyra. Thyra roll her eyes and face me, "Ayo will never miss today Aaliyah, you're just being paranoid. I'm sure he's on his way here as we speak."
