Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Ade o rin okin by K1 De Ultimate, a prominent Fuji veteran singer in Nigeria and one of my Mum's favorite artiste blasted from the lord speakers.

The reception was filled to the brim with half the Nigerian entertainment industry. I was certain the whole Nigeria was present. Everyone looked good and was enjoying themselves. When we arrived at first, I asked Aaliyah who made the guest list, because for certain I knew wifey didn't, cause what?

I've spent the few hours associating with my guest, sprayed millions of Naira, posed for millions of pictures, featured in thousands of video.

I was now currently seated in between HRM Oba Elegushi and Prince Oloto (Royals of Lagos), we were dancing and just having a good time, talking about every and nothing, On the table in front of us were expensive bottles of champagne.

"Ni bo ni Iyawo e wa? (Where is your wife?)" Oba Elegushi ask.

"O wa pelu awon ore e (She's with her friends)" I responded. After dancing with me for a while, Aaliyah complained of being tired so she went to stay with her friends, I didn't blame her, I knew the amount of stress she was under and I planned to ease them all tonight.

"Ayodeji! O fi gbogbo omo wa, o lo fe Americana! (Ayodeji! You left all our Nigerian girls and married an American!)" Prince Oloto jokes and we burst into laughter.

"E ma da lo oun, Omo American lo je gbogbo owo wa, Iyawo e wa very beautiful, o kun e toju oo (Dont mind him, it's the Americana that's enjoying his money, your wife is very beautiful, well down with taking care of her)" Oba Elegushi adds.

"Ba she ri ni yen oo (That's how we see it oo)" I said. Truly Aaliyah was enjoying my money, she was on monthly allowance plus her necessary endless shopping sprees, anything she wanted in this life, she got it no question asked.

Like I said, no body believed that I would end up marrying an American, even I didn't!

Baba Are leans towards me, "Mr Tony Elumelu is around" He whispers in my ear.

I turn around in time when Tony reaches me, I stood up and embraced my mentor. Tony Elumelu mentored me business wisely, he was also like a father figure to me. He was also the CEO of UBA, one of Africa's top banks.

"How are you Ayodeji!" Tony ask.

I sigh, "I've had better days" I told him truthfully.

Tony pats my shoulder, "Everything will be fine, God gives and takes, I'm sure your mom would be very happy!"

I nod, "I hope so."

"Don't think about it" Tony greets the king and other people around, he turns back to me. "Where's your wife?"

"She's with her friends, do you want to meet her?"

"Ofcourse!"

"Sure" I turn to the king, "Excuse me" the king nods at me. Tony and I walked towards where Aaliyah was seated.

My beautiful wife was spraying money on my kids dancing, she already removed the gele she tired on her hair. She was oblivious to the stares from literally everyone around. When she burst into laughter, I felt butterflies in my chest. God she was too beautiful.
