I finish eating just as the door opens and William steps in.

"Hey! I though you'd be sleeping after all you've been through." He says.

I shake my head. "Thanks for the food."

"It's not even a fraction of what you deserve." He says.

"And I'm guessing that Ashley is used to hear you say that too." I say looking down at my hands.

He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. "Why are you acting like this?"

"I'm acting like this because Anna told me that you used to get her to stay over."

"I never got her to stay over." Okay maybe I added that.

"Look. What I am going to tell you is the absolute truth. Ashley and I were a rushed, right-to-do at that moment thing. She didn't even want me. She just wanted the crown."

"You mean to say that she's already confessed that she's working for Thalia?" I ask confused.

"Huh? No. I just figured it out on my own. Something I came to realize over time. What do you mean?" He asks.

"Umm. Thalia once told me that she was her niece and that she wanted you two to get married."

"WHAT?!" He screams. Inwardly I smile at this but I continue. "So it only makes sense that she's working with them."

He thinks it over for a minute and then takes out his phone and makes a call, giving orders to look for her.

When he ends the call I stand up from my seat and go to stand a few feet away from him.

"Listen, I don't know what to make of our relationship. I mean I'm not even su-" He cuts in. "Just stop!"

His out burst startles me and I stare at him dumbfounded.

"Look, if you don't want this just say it. You can walk away and never speak of it again. I won't hate you or anything." After a pause he adds. "Though I'll always love you and want you."

At this I look up and my eyes meet his. I know he means every word. He chose me. And I never thought he would.

I put my arms round his neck and touch my forehead to his. "Really?"

"Really." He presses his lips to mine and I deepen it by pressing myself as close to him a possible.

He pulls away a few inches and looks me in the eye. "I don't want to force you into anything."

She smile at him. "You're not."

He gives me a quick kiss before pulling away and smacking his forehead. "I completely forgot. They're coming to the palace in two days to take over."

"Who?" I ask still thinking about the way his lips felt on mine.

"Mason, Simon and Thalia." Now, this gets my attention.

Does the name of the chapter make any sense? The 8th chapter was "he will never choose you" and this one is "he chose me."
