I get on the bus just like everyday and take my seat behind Joe. He's about to close the doors when a voice shouts.
"Stop! Don't close the door!"
This makes him pull his hand away from the lever. After a few seconds a out of breath Annabelle and Sophie clamber into the bus. Annabelle sits across from me and Sophie on the other side of the aisle.
"What are you guys doing here?" I ask as the bus starts to move.
"Going to work." Sophie replies.
"But I've never seen you on this bus before." I tell them.
Anna speaks from my other side. "That's because we usually take the next bus but today we decided to take this one. So, that we could go to work together."
I nod in reply and we sit in silence. I'm the one to break it.
"Where do you work now?" I ask Sophie.
"I found a job at a restaurant. It's a fifteen minutes walk from the palace. The name is Dining Point." She replies.
As soon as she tells me this I regret having asked her. That's because I used to work there but got fired and most probably they hired her to fill up my position. Not that I don't like my new job. But I liked my previous one better. The place had started feeling like home because I had become friends with people who worked there and knew my daily coustomers. It was as if I was made for that job.
People say that everyone's born for a reason. I guess I was born to be a waitress.
I decide to not tell her. "It's a really good place. I've been there a couple of times. Do you have fun working there?"
"Yep! I've found this one girl who's really friendly towards everyone and even the customers seem to be friends with her." She tells me.
The description is enough to tell me that the person she's talking about is Blaire. She was my friend too when I worked there. She was one of my best friends at that time. She was there for me when my father died and she knew how I felt because she too had lost her father.
The bus comes to a stop and we all get out. Anna and I say goodbye and head towards the gates while Sophie walks off towards her work place.
When we go in Anna hangs up her coat and leaves to wherever she was assigned. I go off looking for Mitchell. I have to ask her whether she has something for me to do or should I go to Helen for work?
I'm about to give up when Helen walks onto the same corridor.
"Helen!" I call out to her.
"What are you doing here?" She asks me.
"I was looking for Mitchell. Have you seen her?" I ask.
"No. But you did a good job at the beakfast. Everyone liked the event. All thanks to you and Mitchell." She tells me.
I smile at the remark and thank her. We're about to go our own ways when she stops me.
"I almost forgot. The royal family is going to their beach house next week and your name is on the list of housemaids. You have to let me know by two days whether you can go or not."
I tell her that I will and continue my search.
I come across the same music room I saw before. But this time I can hear soft music coming in from the room. It's muffled because the door is closed. I open it quietly and peek in. The music is coming from a guitar which William is playing.
He can't see me because he has his back to me. I keep listening for a while but then all of a sudden he turns around and sees me standing there.
"How long have you been standing there?" He asks.
"About two minutes." I tell him and then add. "Sorry."
"Why're you apologizing?" He asks me and gets up.
"Because I..." I start to say but he cuts in saying. "You're too cute."
This catches me off guard and I just stand there staring at him with my mouth open. What does he mean by "you're cute?" But this also reminds me of his mother's warning.
"What do you mean?" I ask trying to focus on the situation at hand.
But to myself I think. How can someone be so cute?! His smile is the most adorabel thing in this world! I want to kiss him so much! Why couldn't he have been someone from a similar family as mine?! All these questions make my head spin.
"You look different when you're trying to explain something but can't come up with the right explanation. Different in a good way. It makes you look cute." He tells me.
The complement makes me blush slightly and I try to cover it up by asking. "Do you play the guitar?"
"Yeah. Can you play it too?" He asks raising an eyebrow.
"No. But I can play the violin. I'm not an expert but I can play some basic tunes." I tell him.
"Did you take classes?" He asks me.
"I didn't take classes. My father was really good and he taught me. But he never got the chance to teach me completely." I reply.
"Why? What happened?" He asks putting the guitar back in its place.
I've never been comfortable talking about this topic but for some reason I decide to share it with him.
"He was executed." I try to explain.
"Executed? But someone can only be executed on the orders of..." He leaves off.
And I complete for him. "On the orders of your family."
I'm glad that I don't have to say anything else because the situation is too awkward now.
"Cassandra! I've been looking for you all morning." Mitchell calls from the door.
Without saying another word to William, I turn on my heal and go back to my daily routine.
I'm trying my best to update more frequently. But this is as frequent as it can get.
