"I'll put Leo to bed." Mom says getting up from the dinning table and picking up Leo from his chair. She carries him to the guest bedroom.
"So, what's been going on in your personal life?" She asks me taking a sip of her water.
I swallow my bite and ask "What do you mean?"
"Any male attention these days? Boyfriend or something?" She asks wiggling her eyebrows.
"No. I've been a bit too busy these days trying to get enough money for us." I tell her sighing.
"Oh come on! There has to be someone!" She insists.
"What makes you think that?" I ask her.
"You had a package in your hand when you answered the door." She says making panic rise inside me.
"What else does she know?" I ask myself.
I let it drop and finish eating my casserole. Ever since I first bumped into William, I've always been in awe of him. He's really good looking, is good at heart and on top of everything is a PRINCE! I finally give in and decide to ask for her advice on this. After all she has had more experience with this.
"Uh Ella? Have you ever liked someone but think that you're not good enough for them? I may be in a situation of that sort. Oh! And plus he already has a girlfriend who will do whatever it takes to make him choose her over me." I explain.
"But what you think is not enough to stop you from confessing your feelings!" She exclaims.
"I can't just walk up to him and say 'I think that I like you!" I reply.
"What else is stopping you?" She asks folding her arms over her chest.
"You know dad..." I start.
But she cuts me off saying "I know what you mean."
"I wish he hadn't done that. If it hadn't happened he wouldn't be dead and I wouldn't have to put up with such crapy jobs!" I scream.
"Keep your voice down! You don't want mom to hear you saying that!" She tells me sternly.
"I know but that is the truth! You're lucky that some rich buisnessman took up a liking for you and decided to marry you!" All that I'm saying is coming from my heart.
A hurt expression crosses her face and I try to apoplogize "I...I'm sorry. I didn't mean it that way."
"You know what? You're just too full of yourself! I got married to him because I actually tried raising my status! Mom saw it coming and was ready to deal with it! But you who thinks that some Prince Charming will drop from the sky and take you to some land far far away! There I said it! You're just too stubborn!" She screams at me and stomps off, walking past mom who had just come in.
I feel tears stream down my face and before I know it my whole body's racking with tears. Mom comes over and sits down next to me. She puts her arms around me and holds me there.
I had just meant to have a sister to sister talk but it turned out to be a compelete disaster!
