Blood Must Have Blood Part Two (16,1)

The warriors who had announced Loukas' death were sure to have known what had truly happened to Tyra's brother. Those saddened faces that couldn't even look their parents in the eyes, Tyra believed it to be guilt. But it was just the fact that they had hidden the truth from them.

They stood at their doorstep claiming that Loukas was dead, watching as their mother wept to the sky, watch her emotionless father cry into his beard. Watch Tyra and her brothers sob into each other. Yet, they said nothing.

Tyra barely remembered their faces, much less their names. But if she did, she would've hunted the two to the ends of the Earth and made them pay for making her carry with another death that was not one to be called such for over a decade.

Tyra paced by the edge of the forest, Lexa waiting by her side, as most of the warriors had already begun their trek back to the remains of Tondc.

She was waiting for the Reaper tunnel team to show their faces, hopefully dragging some Reapers with them, and within those Reapers was her brother. Or she would have made the completely wrong choice back at the Mountain.

And when the moon finally stood high in the sky, Tyra heard the first footsteps crunching against the fallen branches. Simultaneously, Lexa and herself pulled out their swords, pointing them toward the noise, only to find Indra at the other end.

"Heda, Tyra." They both dropped their swords into their respective places as most of the seconds came into view, all except the only one aside from Tyra and Lincoln who knew about Loukas.

"Indra, where is Octavia?" Indra hung her head, Tyra's heart dropping into her stomach. If she had not only left Bellamy behind but also failed her favour to him, Tyra didn't even want to think of what she'd feel.

"She stayed behind. She is no longer my second."  Tyra sighed, the alternative of Octavia being cast out for what she guessed was waiting for her brother was a much better prospect than the idea Tyra's mind had come up with.

And as one of the seconds dragged in an unconscious Reaper, Tyra remembered the true purpose for her staying behind.

"Indra, did you find a Reaper with curly red hair and hazel eyes? He would be around my age, older even, definitely taller." Indra didn't speak, almost shocked at how much emotion she was seeing from Tyra, who from the moment they met had only carried a rocky expression.

"Caris." The second came over, dragging a Reaper across the ground, who Tyra immediately ran over to.

His hair certainly was red, nearly a matching shade to Tyra's own, only it was longer than she expected, practically passing his shoulders as it nearly completely covered his face.

Loukas had always hated having his hair past his ears, he claimed it itched too much and rather kept it cropped close to his scalp. If having such a long curled hair was not a sign that Loukas, if it was Loukas, was not in the right state of mind, Tyra didn't know what would be.

Gently, Tyra used the tips of her fingers to push the hair out of the Reaper's face, and as soon as she did, a single tear passed over her cheek.

It really was Loukas, even with a much more mature and sharp jawline than he had had as a child, even with specks of poorly shaven stubble along his jaw and neck, even with his eyes covered in white and mouth covered in blood-red. That was Tyra's brother, it was Loukas. She'd know that face even in her sleep.

"Do you know him?" Tyra nodded, pushing the remaining hair out of Loukas' face and keeping it behind his ears.

She used the edge of her sleeve to wipe at the lone tear, taking a deep breath before returning to her cold facade.
