"She is supposed to be our new queen?" The lady sneered, her face scrunching up in disgust.
She walked fully into the room, her chin raised in the air, and with each step she took, the echo of her heels rang a warning bell.
"To think, of all people, the great alpha king had to be mates with a weak human." She spat.
"What a huge shame!" She huffed in anger, her pretty face turning red.
"This was not supposed to happen; I will not accept this!" She cried, a huge frown sitting on her delicate brows.
Bang!
The huge doors to the room were flung open.
"Your opinion was not needed in the first place." A stern voice broke through the air.
All eyes moved forward toward the door, their mouths wagging before their brains.
"Mrs B."
"It's Mrs. B."
"Mum!"
A beautiful maid standing at the other end of the room called, moving towards the woman at the door.
The woman was middle-aged, her green eyes sharp as a hawk's, and her face stern, cold, and void of any other emotions.
She looked frightening.
The maid stood in front of her mom, her head dipping in a small bow, raising her head, and with the same pair of green eyes, she stared at her mother.
"Olive, why has she not changed?" Mrs. B asked, referring to Lisa, who now stood beside the bed with the smallest of frowns.
"She refused to let us come close to her," Olive replied solemnly.
"And why is that?" She asked sternly, her gaze resting on Lisa, making her shift uncomfortably on her feet.
"How dare you ignore me after cutting me off?" The lady screamed hysterically, stomping her feet like a teenager.
Her actions drew all the attention in the room.
"And who are you to ask me that, Anna?" Mrs. B asked in a cold voice, raising a brow slightly and letting it fall.
"You know very well who I am, Mrs. B, and I have every right to speak to you the way I like, after all," she sneered, "you are just a maid, just like the rest of them."
Multiple sharp intakes of air filled the room, her words drilling a hole filled with hate in their hearts.
Frowns filled their faces, each bold enough to let their displeasure be seen.
The two guards stepped forward, their eyes flashing with outrage and hostility, their hands clenched into fists, and wanting to punch the woman who had just spoken in front of them.
It was a known fact who Mrs. B was to everyone in the palace. She was like the mother of them all, and one of the few people Marcos ever listened to.
Anna's words were like a sword piercing through their hearts and an insult to their faces for failing to defend their mother, who had just been insulted right in front of them.
Mrs. B felt the aura around the two guards who had dared to walk forward with frowns on their faces.
She quickly put out her hand, pulling them back and making them halt.
"Might I remind you, Miss Anna, that you have no right to be in this room and that you are hindering us from performing our duties; after all, we are nothing but staff?" Mrs.B Said staring calmly at the lady in bright red clothing.
"You never learn, do you?" Anna implored sceptically. "I think you enjoy seeing me all riled up, or you are just too stupid to understand."
Boom!
Another fatal blow was made by this same person, causing growls of disapproval from the maids, the guards, and even Mrs. B herself.
"Don't you dare talk to my mother that way!" Olive growled, her claws peeking through the fabric of her dress, as she had been hiding them previously.
"And who are you to talk to me that way, you pig?"
"Do you have any idea what could happen to you if any of this gets to Marcos?" Anna roared.
"Now look who is the stupid one bitch; it seems you have no brains in that empty head of yours, but look around you, you hold no grounds against anyone any more, and you know why?" Olive taunted her with a smirk.
"You just expired." She snickered in a sing-song voice, waving a claw-like finger in the air.
Chuckles wafted through the air, causing Anna to go from pale to raging.
"Oh, please don't be so childish," Anna snapped, raising her voice.
"Did you all think this?" She sneered, looking at Lisa condescendingly. "Would replace me?"
"This weak thing?" She asked. "Then you are all a bunch of fools!"
"Do not address the Luna that way!" One of the guards growled viciously, baring his fangs.
"She is not my luna, and definitely not "the" luna," she declared.
"Says who?" One of the maids gritted her teeth.
"Says me," she held her chin proudly,
"it won't be long, but you would all see who the true luna would be when Marcos comes crawling back to me." She said it so confidently."And you know why?" She spoke furthermore. "Because I am the only one fit to be in that position."
"In your dreams!" Olive lashed.
"Honey, my dreams always come to pass." She mocked. "Besides, do you think she can be any good?"
"That mute thing hasn't said a thing in her honor, leaving you all to do it for her; is that the way of a true queen?" She laughed.
"I don't see anything special in her, and I am so much better than her."
Her words were like a blow in the gut, causing them to fall silent momentarily.
"What?" She chuckled, "can't speak? Cat caught your tongues?"
"Hold it!" Lisa yelled from where she stood, walking around the bed and stopping a few metres away from Anna.
"I never gave you the right to insult or drag my name into filth." She hissed, digging her fingers into the clove of her palm.
She spoke for the first time since Anna came into the room, causing Anna to stagger.
"Hmph, who knew the mute could talk?" She chuckled dryly. "And that's all you can say?"
"You didn't let me finish." Lisa raged silently, trying to contain her anger.
"Then do speak." Anna gave the go-ahead.
Lisa took a deep breath, closing her eyes for only a second before opening them. "You are really stupid."
Snap!
A wire split in Anna's brain, causing her to go livid.
"What, how dare you, a puny human, call me that?" She screeched, ready to pounce on her, with her claws and fangs in full display.
"I will tear you to pieces!" Anna shrieked, moving to Lisa.
"Enough!"
A cold grim voice broke through the air.
