Incase you didn't know, I plan on wrapping this story up 😂😩

________

Kaiden is back.

The words had Lisa's head spinning, but not for long, as Marcos was quick with his feet, leaving the room with heavy steps, and she was still in his arms.

She grabbed his neck tighter, to prevent falling, his huge arms under the curve of her legs.

It had been five days since the attack, but Marcos had told of how his beta had been missing since then.

Marcos had told of leaving his beta at the entrance of the dungeon base, because of how filthy and smelly the man was at that time.

But Lisa could tell how guilty Marcos had felt when he told her.

His voice was painful.

Either from leaving him there at that time, or sending him in the dungeon in the first place.

Lisa couldn't blame Marcos'.

Who would have thought that things would go like this?

She had a hunch, that Marcos thought his beta was either dead or captured by the enemy, but thank goodness it wasn't like that.

Seeing they were almost close to the meeting hall, Lisa grew scared, opening her lips to bargain with the territorial huge man. "Can you put me down? I don't think it's wise to meet your beta in this position."

His legs never stopped, but Lisa caught the look of contemplation that flashed in his eyes.

"Okay," he said, before placing her down, before the heavy doors that led to the room.

He made sure she was steady before placing his hand on the small of her back.

Two standing guards stood like statues in front of the door, their heads lowering upon seeing them, trying their best to remain transparent lightbulbs.

Feeling her face getting hot, Lisa pinched his warm hand, fighting the urge to suppress the feeling.

Being seen showing affection in public was something new to her, but she still had her doubts about the man and didn't want to feel this way at all.

She wanted to resist the bond.

Marcos' deep voice interrupted her inner monologue, his voice with a repressed chuckle. "Would you like to go in now?"

"Do you think I should?" Lisa asked back, explaining when his face twisted with confusion. "I mean, he's your beta and best friend. I don't need to be there right?"

"Nonsense." Marcos refuted, his eyes going soft. "You are their Luna, and have every right to be there. I have said it, and more, you are my mate. It's normal for me to introduce my friend to you, it's what humans do right?" He lifted a brow at the end.

"Yeah, I guess," Lisa replied unsure, but Internally, she scoffed in complaint.

'You know it's what humans do, yet you kidnapped me??!'

Unaware of her thoughts, Marcos proceeded with his words. "Aren't you supposed to know? You are human." He paused, correcting himself. "Well, you stayed longer in the human world than I have."

Although the supernatural world was integrated with the normal world, making it so normal that no one suspected, Marcos hadn't been in the "world."

He was always training according to him.

His father had shipped him off since the age of fifteen, to prepare him as the heir.

How cruel was that?
