Hearing her mate's voice was the last thing Lisa heard before she passed out.

Lisa had been holding on for how long, and her mate was the reassurance she needed for her to find solace.

Opening her eyes, Lisa was met with white lights on the ceiling. She blinked, turning her head to the side.
She was hooked onto a drip, a heart monitor, and a breathing mask was on her face.

She frowned, feeling the bandage around her head pull due to muscle contraction.

"Ow!" She cried out, using her free hand to massage her head.

Immediately her cry was heard, the door was pushed open, and two doctors and four nurses rushed in with a tray in one of the nurses' hands.

"Luna, what's wrong?"

A more gentle-looking doctor between the two, spoke, his voice laced with concern.

He was ginger-headed, with blue eyes, his body giving out a radiance of paternal love despite how young he looked.

"It hurts." She whined with a raspy voice.

"Here, have some water." The ginger-haired doctor said, a nurse bringing a glass to her lips.

Lisa gulped the water hastily, her dry scratchy throat, finding relief. It felt like she had walked in the desert for years without water.

"Do you need more?" The nurse asked with equal concern after she shook her head to reject the water.

"No, it's okay," Lisa muttered, waving her free hand. "Where is Marcos?" She asked instead.

Lisa couldn't spot the huge man anywhere. The man had never liked to be away from her for even a second before so when a thing like this happened, she was a little surprised he wasn't by her side.

The ginger-haired doctor smiled at her question. "His Highness was here just a minute ago but something needed his attention. He will be here soon so don't worry, I have linked him already."

"Oh!" Lisa whispered, downcast.

She wasn't sure what was going on, but right now, all she needed was to see her mate.

"Luna since you've woken up, do you mind if we run a check-up on you?" The doctor asked, "It's okay if you are feeling uncomfortable and if you want we can come back after you have seen your mate. Is that fine with you?"

"No, you can carry out the test," Lisa confirmed, shaking her head.

"Okay, you can call me Will and this guy," Will said, pointing to the second doctor beside him. "His name's Chris. I will be your doctor today and he will be assisting me. Do tell me if you are uncomfortable Luna."

"I will."

"Very well then," Will announced, coming to her bed. He checked the heart monitor, glancing at a watch on his wrist. "Heart rate is normal, sugar levels are a bit low, nurse Catherine, be sure to increase her sugar dose right after this."

The nurse, Catherine, answered, "Yes doctor Will."
"Chris?" Will called the silent assistant doctor beside him. The man hadn't said a word since he came in, only staring at the wall.

"You should look at this." Will beckoned him over. "Do you think this is weird?" He asked, looking at the x-ray film through film.

Glancing at the film, Chris frowned. "That's not right." His voice was deep, and when he spoke, Lisa noticed a scar at the side of his lips.
