Valentine's day gift

"Thanks for bringing"
I spoke calmly, facing Kokichi.

"No problem"
He responded simply, his arms crossed behind his head.

"..."
Exhausted, I turned to leave.

"Before you go..."

I stopped, turning around again.
"What? I'm tired, hurry up.."
I rubbed my eyes to prove that statement.
If he asks me for a kiss now, he can forget it, he didn't deserved a second kiss today.

"I have to tell you something.."
I heard Kokichi whisper.

Now he got my attention, I listened up curiously.
"Nyeh, what is it?"

"I lied to you pretty unscrupulously earlier, I'm sorry.."
He confessed out of nowhere, his face was serious.

"Oh yes?"
I returned his look.
It's not like this was anything new.
I sighed and wrapped my arms around my body.
"With ..with what?"

"When I said, I didn't have a Valentine's day gift for you, that was a lie"

Eyes slowly widening, I watched spellbound as Kokichi took off his backpack and pulled a fluffy teddy bear out of his backpack.

With a big smile, he proudly held it out to me.

The corners of my mouth lifted slightly, i blushed.
Wow...
"That is really for me?!
And this is no prank?"

That was a stupid and unnecessary question and the gift wasn't exactly something extraordinary either, but the fact that it came from Kokichi justified my reaction.

"Don't worry, take it, this time it's no prank, no hidden cams Nishishi~"

With these words, the purple haired handed it over to me.

For a few seconds I just stared at it in absolute delightion.
I felt so awake and excited somehow out of nothing.
I wasn't even tired anymore!
That pleasant tingling sensation just returned in my stomach, growing stronger with every breath.

"Have fun with it.. good night."

I raised my head.
With my mouth open and eyes sparkling, I looked after Kokichi, who had left me behind with my red cheeks - still totally taken by surprise.

He was so.. cool.
It were exactly those special moments that could make me fall for him ever and ever again.
They changed the way, I perceived the boy, a little more each time.

Just when he was a little further away, something struck me;
I didn't say thank you!!

"Kokichi!! Wait!"
My loud call broke the harmonious silence of the late hour and disturbed the peace of the calm night.
I just hoped that no neighbor or person in the area had heard this!

Kokichi turned looking at me questioningly.

"Thank you!!"
I yelled, squeezing the bear's paws.

In response, the supreme leader gave me a wide, amused smile, his arms casually placed behind his head.

With a jerky twist, I turned my back on him, unable to contain my embarrassment.
Clutching the teddy tightly as if someone could take it from me, if I didn't hold it tight to my chest, I ran to my front door.
Well.. that was somehow a nice day..

When I got home, I snuggled straight into bed, teddy in my arms, the soft, warm blanket pulled over both of us.
I lightly pressed the teddy's forehead against my lips.
He even smelled like chocolate??
How?!
The smell gave me a warm feeling in my stomach. This feeling had made me happy more often lately.
It was completely new to me.
Damnit.. and he said he was bad at romance, damn liar!!
