"LOSS OR GAIN?"

She reaches Atlas Bookstore.
As she just going to enter. Sumedh calls her.

Mallika:
Baad mein karti hu.
Sumedh:
No! Mallika...I...need you...
Mallika:
Kya hua?

Sumedh starts crying and Mallika returns.
She goes in.
Sumedh's dad dead on the floor of their bar.

Mallika:
Uncle!!

She tries to wake him up.

Malika:
Sumedh!!! Kaha ho!??

Sumedh comes and stands crying there.

Mallika:
Uncle ko...kya hua?? Hospital chalo!
Sumedh:
Dead...

Mallika sits on the sofa in shock. Sumedh sits near the dead body.

Sumedh:
Dad get up...please...please dad..i have no one dad...pls.

Mallika goes, sits down and hugged Sumedh.
He started crying more.

They arrange the funeral for next day morning.
Sumedh gets better.
Ik too soon to get better.
Sumedh always had bad relationship with his dad. He had to leave army for him.
His mom had committed suicide because of his dad's abuse.

Later that day.

Mallika was going around the case files.
She is smoking.

Mallika:
Uncle was murdered?? All his friends were....he was accused kf same case as his friends....

She gets a message...
"You are going to a traitor's funeral tomorrow morning....you really want to?"

Sumedh enter the room with a whiskey glass

Sumedh:
Kya soch rahi ho?
Mallika:
Sumedh, see i think that all the men who died were your dad's friend. And now dad too...I think that the killer is killing them because they were accused of corruption. Maybe he is taking hia revenge. And Varun sent me a report which proves that they all were---
Sumedh:
Gaddar?

Sumedh asks her with a raised eyebrow.
Mallika stops as she realized she involved his dad in a corruption case.

Sumedh takes the cigarette from her band and smokes.
Drinks a sip of the whiskey.

Sumedh:
Go on.
Mallika:
Sumedh...i didn't mean--

Sumedh throws whiskey on the files, holds Mallika's waist and pulls her to him.

Mallika:
Sum...
Sumedh:
Shushhh!

He takes out lighter from her pocket. Sets fire on the files!

Mallika looks shocked at The files and Sumedh...his eyes had gone deep and red.
She tried to push him away.
He left her, pushed her away near the wall, then harshly pinned her to the wall.
She wasn't even resisting as she knew he wouldn't ever hurt her.

Sumedh:
He is my dad! Dont you dare talk about him ever again! And after today...i don't know you Mallika. Leave right now!
Mallika:
Sumedh--
Sumedh:
Leave!!!

She packs her stuff and leaves.

She goes back to army quarters.
She feels guilty.
She felt she overthought.

Next Morning

Even after Sumedh's warning, she goes to the funeral.
She doesn't come in front until the funeral is over.

Sumedh sits on the stairs of the cremation ground.
She joins him.

Mallika:
I am sorry.
Sumedh:
I am sorry too.
Malika:
For?
Sumedh:
I overreacted. I shouldn't have used my power on you. I didn't mean---
Mallika:
Ik. I am sorry I cooked up a story so bad in my head that hurt you.
Sumedh:
Its ok. I have always hates him. But i never showed him. Why am I feeling sad?
Mallika:
You loved him Sumedh, you just never knew.

Sumedh restes his head on her shoulder.

Sumedh:
Thank you for being there
Mallika:
I will always be there.

Sumedh takes Mallika's stuff from the quaters, Mallika tells Sumedh she has some work, she goes to Atlas book store.

She doesn't see anyone there.
She goes through the books.
All books were National books. She noticed that this book store was infront of army base.

Man;
Mujhe pata tha tum jarur aaogi, Princess.

She shocked, turns back.

Mallika:
