A day in Jericho

I've now been attending Nevermore for one week. I've made new friends and succeeded in my studies.

Me and Enid are hanging out in our dorm until we hear a knock on the door. We yell "Come in!" at the same time and start laughing.

It's Xavier, Wednesday, Ajax and Yoko. "Hey guys wanna come hang out? We're going to Jericho." Ajax asks us.
"Yeah sure! We'll be ready in 10 minutes." Enid says and I agree.

I put on a white slightly oversized sweater, black mini skirt, black tights and black boots. I also put a black headband and some pearl earrings. Enid wears almost the same thing, only she has a pink sweater, white mini skirt and pink headband.

We grab our bags and leave. As we go downstairs, I notice Xavier looking at me and smiling. I smile back.

Not long after, we arrive in Jericho. "Should we go to Weathervane?" Enid suggests. Everyone agrees. We go inside and Wednesday sighs in an annoyed way.
"What is it?" I ask her.
"Tyler, he works here and he's annoying." We go sit at a table and order. I get a cappucino and a croissant.

After a while, we notice that there seems to be some kind of event in Jericho, because there's lots of people surrounding the town center.

"Hey what's going on there? Let's go look!" Enid says.
"You go, I don't want to go outside, it's getting a little cold." I say.
Wednesday stays inside too, but everyone else goes. Wednesday goes to speak with Tyler, so I'm left alone in my table.

I look out the window and zone out until iI hear a soft, familiar voice "A matcha latte, please" I turn my head and see Ms Thornhill.

"Oh hi Y/N! What are you doing here alone, honey?"

"Oh my friends went outside to look at what's happening there, but I didn't feel like going.
I'm not that interested." I say to her.

"May I sit down?" She asks and I nod.

"To be honest, neither am I." she tells me and I chuckle a bit. "So what are your plans today?" she asks.
"Oh I'm not sure we're probably just going to head back to Nevermore soon. So nothing interesting." I answer to her and ask her the same question.
"Well I thought of going shopping. Wanna come with me?" She asks me. I'm a little confused at first, but answer "Why not!"
She smiles widely and says "Alright then, let's go!"
We get up and I say to Wednesday "Tell the others that I'm coming back later and not to worry about me."

We go to this small, but pretty clothing shop. I take a first look at the store and I'm in love. It's gorgeous. I love shopping, so I'm super excited.

We start looking at different clothes while having fun at the same time, laughing and joking.
After a while of looking, I find a gorgeous dress. It's baby blue and it has some rhinestones attached to it.
I try it on and ask her "What do you think?"
She looks at me with an amazed look on her face. Like she's at a loss of words.
"You look so beautiful Y/N, really. So gorgeous."

"Thank you Ms Thornhill." I thank her and smile, she really sounded genuine.

"It's Marilyn outside of class, okay?" she tells me. "Oh, well thank you, Marilyn."

I buy the dress and we go back outside, it's freezing. Of course I left my jacket in my dorm because I didn't think it'd be cold. I start shivering and Marilyn notices. She takes off her jacket and gives it to me. "Here, take this." She wraps the jacket around me and puts her hands around me to warm me up.

We go back to near Weathervane and to our surprise, my friends haven't left yet. Soon, we all get on the bus back to Nevermore.
I sit on the window seat and Xavier sits next to me. I thought nothing of this as we're friends, but Thornhill makes a weird face, mixed with disgust and anger. She sits right in front of us.

—Time skip—

We arrive back at Nevermore, and start to head up to our dorms as it's getting late. Me and Enid go back to our dorm. Then I realize, that I still have Ms Thornhill's jacket. I go to her door and knock. She opens the door, and has already changed her clothes. She had a big t-shirt and shorts on.

"I forgot to give your jacket back, thanks for borrowing it."

"No problem. Would you like to come in?" She asks me. I hesitate a bit but go inside anyway. She has a very beautiful room. It's filled with plants, small and big. The room has big windows and a beautiful view. A big tv, to my surprise, and a MASSIVE bed.

"I like your room." I tell her and she smiles at me.

"I was just about to watch a movie, would you like to join me?" She asks suddenly.
What is happening? Is Ms Thornhill actually asking me to stay and watch a movie with her?

I think about it a little but eventually say yes. I get on the bed right next to her, and we start picking a movie. She puts on a horror movie. I don't know why, but I really don't like horror films. The film starts playing and starts off with a good jumpscare. I flinch at it and get closer to Ms Thornhill.

—Time skip—

I hear an alarm go off. Where am I? What time is it? What day is it? It takes me almost a minute to figure out whats going on. It's 7:00am, I'm in Thornhills' room.

Wait.

I'M IN THORNHILLS' ROOM??!

How could this happen? How could I fall asleep?

"Good morning beautiful" a calming and warm voice next to me says.

"Good morning, Marilyn. Did I fall asleep?"

"Yes you did. I didn't have the heart to wake you up, you looked so peaceful and pretty." she mumbles with a small, sleepy smile. "Oh okay. Well I should go, my classes start in a few hours. Thanks for the movie night!" I grab my stuff and start to leave.

"Hey, before you go, would you want to do this again some time?" she asks me.
"Yeah sure! I'd be happy to." I say to her as the last thing before I walk out the door.

What just happened? I have this strange feeling inside me that I've never had before. Good feeling, but strange.
