As me and Marilyn are making our way out of the afterparty, she suddenly stops. I send her a confused look, she nudges my shoulder and I look where she's looking, in front of us. My face drops as I realize who there are standing.

"Mom?!" I say in disbelief.

"Hello, Y/N. I missed you so much." She steps closer, smiling at me proudly and taking me in for a hug.

"I missed you too. Hey, you guys!" I say to my siblings and my dad.

"Y/N!!" They all run to hug me at the same time, I giggle at them while taking them all in a big hug. As we pull away, I turn to my dad. "You've grown up so much, I hardly recognized you." He says, pulling me in a hug.

"We are all very proud of you, Y/N. You've come so far." My mother says, taking my hand.

I smile at her and turn to my side, seeing Marilyn standing there a bit awkward. I let go of my mother's hand, taking Marilyn's hand instead.

"Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to Marilyn." I say, giving Mari a reassuring smile, she nods.

"Yes, Ms Thornhill. We've met before, during the parents weekend?" My dad says.

"Yes, indeed we did." Marilyn says nervously.

"You did, yes. But I introduced her as my teacher then." I explain.

"What do you mean?" Mom asks.

"Meet Marilyn Thornhill, my fiancée." I say, proudly. Although I'm very nervous of their reaction.

They all gasp audibly, their eyes darting to my ring finger. I raise my hand to show them the ring. My mother takes my hand, examining it.

"Fiancée?" She asks in shock.

"Yes. I know this may come across as a shock. I get it. But we love each other, and we want to be happy. That's why your acceptance means so much to me." I say to my parents.

"How long?" Mom asks.

"About eight months." Marilyn chimes in.

"So, when we were here at parents weekend, you were already together? And when you came to visit us home, then, too?"

"Yes, that's true."

"We certainly would've appreciated you telling us about this earlier."

"I understand that, it's just, not many people knew until recently." I explain.

"Well. I don't think there's any reason why we wouldn't approve of this. She's not your teacher anymore." Mom says and dad agrees. They turn to look at Marilyn, smiling lightly.

"Welcome to the family."

"Really? Thank you guys, so much!!!" I say excitedly.

"Of course, we just want you to be happy." They say.

"We have a new sister?! Yayyy!!" My siblings yell, running to hug Marilyn. I start laughing at them, Marilyn looks a bit shocked but soon, starts smiling widely and pulls them in a loving embrace. Me and my parents join the hug, too. And for a good while, we're just hugging each other, like the happy family that we are.

Pulling away, I remember that we have one more thing to announce.

"Oh, and we're moving to Paris."

——

"That's the final box."

"Thank you, George." I thank him.

"No problem, miss."

I take the box in my hand and carry it inside. I put it on the floor beside the kitchen island, joining my fiancée on the couch, grabbing a glass of wine for the both of us and sitting down.

"We did it." I say, placing the glasses on the couch table.

"We did." She says, taking me in her lap and wrapping her hands around my waist. I smile, cupping her cheeks and kissing her affectionately. She smiles into the kiss.

"I love you, endlessly." She whispers.

"I love you too, forever and always." I whisper back, kissing the tip of her nose.

And so, the two lovers started their new life together in Paris.

Marilyn opened a botany shop, which quickly became the talk of the town and succeeded, resulting in opening more shops around Paris.

Y/N decided to focus on her studies for her dream career, but she did give her manager a call, and they agreed that they would work together on the side of her studies. She became more famous and attended events with her fiancée.

The two women got succesful, and lived their life together, happily ever after.

THE END
