Marilyn's pov
After Y/N left me in my dorm, I broke down on the floor. I just lost the love of my life.
I go to Larissa's office, tears running down my face. I get a couple of weird looks on the way but honestly don't care about that right now.
"Marilyn? What's wrong?" Larissa asks, getting up from her seat as soon as I storm in her office.
"She- she left m-me, Larissa" I weep. Larissa's eyes widen.
"What?! Oh, Marilyn I'm so sorry. What happened?" She comes over to me and hugs me, bringing me to the couch.
"She kept on sa- saying that if we don't have trust in our relationship, there's no point in continuing it." I say, sitting down.
"What do you mean trust?"
"It's about Ms Prospero, Y/N still thinks that it's her kidnapper. I tried to explain it to her, but accidentally crossed a line and called her... well, insane in a way."
"Insane? Oh, Marilyn." She shakes her head.
"Bu- but that's not the worst. I hurt her." I confess in shame and guilt.
"Hurt her how?"
"Physically. Her wrist is bruised because of me."
She gasps. Not a word comes out of her mouth.
"I really didn't mean to. And now, she hates me. I don't even blame her." I say in sorrow.
"Hey, Marilyn," Larissa grabs my chin to make me look at her. I nod her a 'yes?'
"You and Y/N are meant for each other. You are going to win her back." She says sternly. Wow, she really means it.
"I am going to win her back." I say, gaining more confidence.
"I think I have the perfect plan." Larissa tells me, now intriguing me.
"Do tell."
Y/N's pov
"Y/N? What's wrong?" Enid asks me as I enter my dorm with teary eyes. She's with Wednesday.
"Me and Marilyn broke up." I say, my voice breaking. She gets up and runs to hug me. Wednesday stays in her place, as if she's thinking of something.
"I thought I made it clear to her that if she ever hurt you, it wouldn't end well for her. Looks like I've got to have a little chat with Ms Thornhill." She says monotonously, getting up and heading for the door. I stop her.
"No, you don't need to do that. I'm actually the one who called it quits." I explain, earning a confused frown from both of them.
"Let me explain." I say and sit on the floor beside me, them sitting across me.
"As you both know, I've had my suspicions about our new English teacher and her real identity. And turns out I was right."
"What happened?" Enid asks.
"Well, after you left, she told me that she missed me and then she kissed me."
"What?!" Enid yells, both their eyes wide.
I nod.
"And I spoke with Marilyn right after it, she said that I'm lying and she called me insane."
"Usually I'd take that as a compliment, but she went too far this time." Wednesday says.
"Plus, I kinda found out that I'm a bit afraid of her after what happened in class the other day. I still can barely move my wrist." I say with a sigh.
"Wow... I'm so sorry Y/N." Enid says, rubbing my shoulder as if to comfort me.
"Thanks Enid."
"So what are you going to do about it?" Wednesday asks.
"About what?" I ask.
"About that crazy woman pretending to know English literature."
"I don't know. I want to expose her, I just don't have any ideas about how. It should be big and preferably in front of everyone." I explain.
"I think I know exactly what to do." Wednesday says, the corner of her mouth smirking up a bit.
Marilyn's pov
"The end of school year dance is in a week, that's the perfect opportunity to win her back." Larissa explains enthusiastically.
"What if she's still scared of me?"
"Then you'll just have to prove her that you're the same Marilyn as you were before."
I nod.
"What about her therapy lessons? Are you taking her?" I ask.
"Yes, I am. Unless you want to?"
"No, no. I don't think that's what she needs right now. She needs to be in the presence of someone who she feels safe with." I say with a sigh.
"Marilyn. Please don't do this to yourself. All is not lost. You still have a chance with her. Just do what your heart tells you to." Larissa gives actually good advice.
"Thank you, Larissa."
Y/N's pov
"The end of the school year dance. One week from today. That's where you'll lure her to somewhere you'll be alone, but not for long. We will make sure everyone sees it, and that it will be one hell of a show."
"That sounds amazing. Are you sure it will work?" I ask Wednesday.
"Positive." She responds, looking distracted. She's definitely thinking of the outcomes of the plan.
"Perfect."
We stay there for a while longer, going over the plan a few more times very carefully. This is going to work, it has to.
I don't know if things will ever be the same with me and Marilyn, but the most important thing to me right now is to expose Betsy.
It does make me a bit sentimental, knowing we only have a few weeks before we graduate. If me and Marilyn really end things like this, I don't think I'll be able to recover from it, ever.
When Enid is already asleep and Wednesday's gone to her dorm, I lay in my bed, thinking about the plans me and her made and if they'll ever become reality after all.
