Y/N's pov
I open my eyes. Where am I? It is only when I look around the white room, the bed I'm laying on and the now stitched wound in my stomach that I realize where I am.

"Oh my god, she's awake" I hear a woman's voice beside me. Larissa. Further back, near the window, I see another woman. It's Marilyn. She rushes over to me immediately after hearing her friend's words.

"Hi hun. How are you feeling?" She sits to my right and cups my cheeks gently, not wanting to hurt me.

"Weird." I chuckle a bit. The sharp pain in my stomach stops my laugh and I hiss in pain. Panic flashes in Marilyn's eyes. "Please take it slow and careful, my love. I don't want you getting hurt any more." She whispers, tears welling up in her eyes. I smile and slightly nod.

"What happened?" I ask them, not remembering much. I see the change of concerned eyes between Larissa and Marilyn.

"You should rest. I will go and get the doctor to check up on you since you finally awoke." Larissa says and brushes her hand on top of mine, getting up and leaving the room.

"And then there were two." I try to joke a bit to easen the atmosphere. Marilyn smiles at me through her tears.

"Please, just tell me." I beg of her.

She buries her face to her hand while squeezing my shoulder with the other.

"Hey, look at me" I say to her and her gaze shoots up to me. I force a small smile to assure her that I can take the information.

"How long?" I ask her, remembering Larissa's words 'since you finally awoke'.

"Six days."

I gasp.

Now that I take a more focused look at her, I notice the bags under her eyes.

"Have you been here the whole time?" I ask her in concern. She nods.

"Oh my god, Marilyn. You shouldn't have. When was the last time you ate?"

"I- I can't remember.. All I've thought about is you waking up.."

"Marilyn, go and get something to eat for yourself. Now." I order.

"No, I can't leave you.. Not when that woman is-" Her eyes widen as she realizes what she almost told me and she quickly brings her hand to her mouth, as if to silence herself.

"When that woman is what?" My face turns stern, of fear probably.

The door opens and in walks Larissa with a male doctor I haven't seen before. "Hello, Ms L/N. I am Dr Matthew Puz."

"Hello." I greet him.

"I have good and bad news."

"Let me hear the good ones first." I suggest and he nods.

"So, the good news are that your stab wound is starting to heal. A week from now, you will feel a thousand times better. Your other wounds were severe, too. We treated them with our best care and they're beginning to heal, too. "

"Okay that's good. And the bad news?" I ask him, waiting for his response nervously.

"You can't be released from here just yet even though your wounds are beginning to heal."

"Why's that?"

"There were some weird... liquids, found inside you. We've suspected some sort of drug. Before we know what it is, you need to be under supervision. We don't know what those substances could do to your body. Or what they've already done."

"What..?" Complete shock hits me. Before I can say anything else, the doctor continues.

"Tell me, Ms L/N. Did that woman ever give you anything that could've had drugs in it?"

"She did make me drink these weird drinks of different colors. After a while, it became normal. As if it made my senses stronger."

"What do you mean by that?" He asks listening to me.

"I don't know... it's stupid."

"No, carry on, what do you mean?"

"Well I never saw the rest of the family until I drank something she gave me. That might've been just a coincidence though, don't think too weirdly of that."

I was focused on my hands, and as I didn't hear a response from any of them, I looked up. Only to see their pale faces making horrified eye contact.

"What?" I ask them in confusion.

"Y/N, darling-" Marilyn takes my hand to keep me calm. It works though. I frown a bit, wondering why their faces are so serious. Like they've just seen a ghost.

"There was no family, love." Larissa joins the discussion.

"What? What do you mean?"

"That woman - she drugged you." The doctor tells me.

"This can't be true" I try to convince myself.

"I am very sorry Ms L/N, but it is true. She drugged you and manipulated you into thinking there was a family and that you were living in a glamorous home." I sit there with my jaw basically on the floor. I can't believe this.

As the doctor sees that I'm too shocked to speak right now, he continues. "She actually used very strong drugs and her manipulation game was on another level. These things made you hallucinate and see things - the family and the pretty house - that were not really there."

"I'm so sorry darling, you didn't deserve any of this." Marilyn comes up to me and wraps me in her arms. A few tears from shock escape my eyes as I bury my face into her chest.

"What happened to her?" I finally ask them, referring to the psycho woman.

"Well, the thing about that is-" Marilyn starts but cuts her sentence short. They all change worried eyes again.

"She escaped." Larissa gets the courage to tell me.

My eyes widen in shock. "No.." I whisper, my breathing starting to quicken, my chest rising up and down quickly, my head starting to feel dizzy.

"Ms L/N I can assure you that you're safe h-"

"NO! You don't understand what that maniac is capable of! I'm not safe here nor anywhere else, she'll find me, sooner of later!" I bury my head to my hands, trying to make myself calm down.

"Y/N we're here to help you and keep you safe. I promise you. I will never leave you. Just breathe with me okay?" Marilyn takes my hands and I look deeply into her brown eyes.

"Oh you don't have any idea how much I missed you. I thought I'd lost you forever" she whispers and tears start falling down her eyes. I start crying, too.

"Mari, you could never lose me. And I missed you too, so much. I love you" I whisper back to her. She smiles at the nickname she hasn't heard in weeks. "I love you too" is all she says before she leans in to kiss me. Our lips meet for the first time in so long. Oh how I missed this.

She cups my cheek with her hand. The kiss is so meaningful - like shouting 'I love you' from the top of my lungs as many times as needed for the other person to believe you. The kiss is filled with love, with relief, with warmth.

As we finally pull away, Marilyn whispers "No matter what happens, I will keep you safe. Even if it's the last thing I do."
