"I'll use you as a warning sign"

Silence engulfed the group now seated on stools in the basement.

"Cielle-" James spoke up only being abruptly cut off by the latter.

"James.." Brooke ushered towards cielle.

The girl was sniffling quietly, shuffling her foot under the stool. Her head hung low before she caught notice of their gaze on her.

She slowly looked up, eyes running red ever so slightly from when she was upstairs. Although she wasn't intending on laying it out for them. She was hoping they'd caught onto it by now.

And they had. Only they felt like they had their hands tied to their back. Watching as the girl had to have the one place she found solace in, be taken away from her. It was like setting fire to her Rain. You were creating a storm.

From all of the things that had taken a turn for the worse, Cielle could never find it in her to pass the last few hours she'd be spending in this house. She was trying her hardest to collect pictures of the curse that ruined the place, to rip it to shreds.

"Elle-" James got cut off yet again only this time by Cielle herself.

"How long have we got?" She spoke barely over a whisper. She wasn't one to get things over with but small talk probably wasn't ideal at a time like this so she cut straight to the chase.

"A little over four days." James said, as his head lowered to the floor. "Maybe three."

"Maybe none at all-" Brooke chipped in shrugging her shoulder.

"-Not helping." James snapped at her.

"You cope how you want genius, I'll carry through my dark humour all I want." Brooke narrowed her eyes at him before she got up to get something from the door at the back.

They were certainly two contrasting personalities, Cielle watched the two from afar before her thoughts clung onto her once again.

They were clearly taking this better than her.
She also couldn't shake off the cold feeling growing in her chest.

And the possibility of Conner having a hand behind all of this? Reigned complete dread over her senses.

Who was this 'Miles' Anyway? She'd only ever heard the name in snippets of conversations but never thought too much of it, partly because the two would immediately shut that thought out every time she mentioned it, or partly because she wasn't fazed enough.

It took her back to how Conner seemed a little out of it at school. Was this it? She'd break out in cold sweat if this had anything to do with him or his family.

Her thoughts were caught off by a loud bang at the door. Cielle and James immediately stood up alarmed.

"I'll go." Cielle demanded before James caught ahold of her wrist. "Don't. Cielle you have to understand that all of us are on high alert right now. And no this isn't because of you. It's something bigger than that. Surely enough I haven't got around to telling you the why's and how's of the context but I'll need you to trust me."
