'Starting to think I haven't seen the entirety of you'

the two walked back into the basement, finding James and Conner sitting comfortably in a corner, making small talk. It was funny, relative to the position they were in.

"getting rather comfy are we?" Brooke raised her brow at the latter while Cielle chuckled at the sight of the two warming up to each other after what had just happened.

"it's for the best, I'm guessing we're gonna be stuck here for a while, aren't we Mr.Spellman ?"

she inquired looking for a reaction, to which he gave none. James cleared his throat heading straight to the back of the room, holding a file in his hand as he made his way back. He shot one look to Cielle and the other to Conner, to which the two complied undoubtedly fast and grabbed a chair each.

he placed the file open, in the middle of the table and pushed up his glasses, "promise me, that you both won't freak out about what I'm about to tell you."

"Dr. James Spellman I just saw a planet that didn't exist, a gun in Brooke's hand, a man who knows every little detail about my life, who I suspect to have been HIS brother, and I levitated an object in mid-air,"

cielle deadpanned, "So what could you possibly have to tell me that could make this worse?"

"oh trust me this isn't half of it"

"wait what now-"

he skimmed through the file opening the page with a green fold on the corner, "there she is," James spoke, his voice trailing off as he seemed focused on the contents of the page urging the two to look as well, "That's your mother..", he looked up only to find Cielle biting her lip as if holding something back.

"spit it out"

"spit what out?"

"you've got that look on your face- the one you make every time you want to say something but you think you can't," he said, a matter of factly.

Cielle let out a shaky breath, looking down at her hands pressed against the table and then at her mother. She was starting to lose touch with everyone and everything around her, it's like her grip on reality was slipping.

james wasn't wrong, there was indeed something on her mind, but she knew better than to spit it out since it'd raise more questions and answers.

"we've got our time though, trust me this is the only thing that hasn't alarmed me in the past hour, I'm good" She nodded in his direction.

"far from good ahem" spoke between muffled coughs, earning a punch on his arm.

"can it fuck face, you're still not off the hook for that little stunt you pulled back there" Cielle spat out.
