A week later.
A whole week has passed since Boyd's death.
The pack had been saddened by it, but none were more torn than the Hale family, minus Peter.
Derek had been at the old distillery, remembering his teen years, while Talulah had been in Mystic Falls for her own mourning.
She had been with Derek at first, but when he decided to open up about his first love, Paige, she needed some time alone.
Lily had been with Cora and sometimes Erica, talking about their memories of Boyd.
Dylan however, he hadn't been in Beacon Hills or Mystic Falls, he was in a neighbouring town, on a rampage, killing and tearing the place apart, and had only calmed down enough to return home, the day before.
Now, he and Lily were back in school, while their parents were back at the loft, having a long, honest talk.
They now sat in English class, Lily getting on with her work, while Dylan tuned in and out as Ms Blake went on with a lecture.
"Idioms, analogies, metaphors and similes. All tools for the writer to tell their story" She says, walking between desks, stopping at Lydia's, noticing her drawing something.
"Lydia, I wasn't aware you had so many hidden talents" She comments to the strawberry blonde.
"You and every guy I've ever dated" Lydia retorts, annoyed with the English teacher.
"And that was an idiom by the way" Ms Blake adds, awkwardly, allowing the girl to go back to her drawing.
"Idioms are something of a secret to the people, who know the language or culture" Ms Blake continues, moving to stand at the front of the class.
"Mr Hale, am I putting you to sleep?" She asks the teen hybrid, noticing his eyes are now closed, making him open his eyes, looking at the teacher with boredom and bitterness.
