"WHAT? The summer festival?" I asked while I descended downstairs with the phone pressing against my ear and then, made my way toward the front door.

[Yes! Shunsuke and I will be going to the Musashi Shrine this coming August 3rd. You should also come with us, Y/N-chan!] Keiko said at the other end of the line.

I stepped out of the house and locked the door behind me. I was heading to the grocery store to restock my almost emptied fridge and also buy some of my daily necessities such as tampons since I'm on my period right now. "And what? Be your third wheel? No, thanks," I instantly declined, scoffing. "Have fun, you guys."

[Aw, don't be such a party pooper, Y/N-chan! It's nothing like that! I wanted you to enjoy it too! Besides, Shunsuke-kun also invited Itoshi-kun to come with us! So, you wouldn't be alone! He's a good-looking guy! I'm definitely sure you'll like him!]

I arched an eyebrow. Itoshi who?

I breathed out a deep sigh. "Alright, fine. I'll think about it, Keiko," was my only reply to her. It would be unwise to give her false hope if I chose to accept her invitation now, right? I don't like to make hasty decisions and then, regret them later on if I failed to meet their expectations.

[Okay! But I do hope you'll come with us. It will be fun, Y/N! Bye!]

Keiko then hung up the call.

I closed my flip phone and shoved the gadget back into my pouch as I continued to walk along the empty street in this scorching hot weather.

"Damn this heat is literally killing me! Why is it so freaking hot?!" I grumbled under my breath, wiping off the dripping sweat from my forehead before fixing my askew baseball cap. "Stupid weather."

It was then my ears caught a loud crash from the distance.

Crash! Bang! Whack!

I tried to follow the source of that disturbing noise until I stumbled into a familiar house. I immediately recognized the residence to be Takemichi's.

What in the world was going on?

Only then, I noticed something foreign fly in my direction.

I squinted my (e/c) eyes to see the object more clearly. My pupils dilated like an owl's when I realized that this 'object' was in fact a flying bicycle.

What the actual fuck?!

I instinctively moved out of the way and ran to what I thought was the safest spot, barely dodging the darn thing.

Why the hell was it flying in the first place anyway?

That was when I saw two familiar blondies throwing things at each other out in the open at fucking broad daylight.
