EVERYTHING RETURNED to its normal routine a few days after Grandma Chiyo's passing. I slowly made my recovery both physically and mentally. I did not let my grief over her death affect my daily life and torment myself with anymore regrets. I knew that Grandma wouldn't like me to dwell on the past and be consumed by guilt. Despite the lingering pain in my heart, I had to keep moving forward and live my life to the fullest.

No more tears.

No more dramas.

No more self-loathing.

I had to be strong for myself and honor Grandma Chiyo's memory by being the best version of myself.

After I meticulously sorted out and filed the signed and stamped documents on my desk, I put them neatly on their designated shelves and made sure that nothing was amiss. I was the only one left in the Student Council office as the other members had either already gone home or participated in their own school clubs. Keiko also attended an important club meeting and did not even want to leave me alone at first if it weren't for my persistence.

Once I was finished with everything, I packed my things and locked the office before I made my way through the empty hallways. It was nearing twilight when I walked out of the school building and found my blonde boyfriend, Mikey, already waiting for me outside the gates just like he always did. He was leaning against his bobber and immediately perked up the moment he saw my approaching figure.

"Hey, babe," Mikey greeted me with a lazy smile and pecked me on the lips, his hands on my waist. "How's school?"

"The same," I replied shortly, returning his smile. I used to care about the students or any teachers who might see us together, but now, I couldn't give a damn. I had enough of pleasing anyone just to be their perfect role model. I realized it wasn't even worth it. I was also very proud of my boyfriend, delinquent or not. "Sorry to keep you waiting."

"No biggie." He took my hand and said, "Let's get going?"

I nodded. "Okay."

I straddled behind him with my arms around his waist as he revved up his motorbike. We soon left the school premises and hit off the road. Mikey drove us to the cemetery to visit Grandma Chiyo and bought beautiful white lilies for her.

I laid the flowers in front of our family grave and lit up the incense to pray for her soul. The sunset radiated a warm orange glimmer over the place and the soft murmurs of the gentle breeze rustled through the trees, making the atmosphere around us feel serene and peaceful.

I closed my eyes and silently whispered a prayer to Grandma, thanking her for everything and promising to take care of her cafe shop. I will also try not to cause any trouble to Grandpa Sano and his family. It was he who kindly offered to take me in and even treated me as his own, fulfilling Grandma Chiyo's last wish.
