Y/N

A FEW MONTHS later.

I was busy reviewing some paperwork in my office when the intercom buzzed. I pressed the button and asked my secretary what it was.

[A certain man named Hanagaki Takemichi requests to see you, ma'am. He had been around our company over the past few days, wanting to speak with you.]

I exerted an exasperated sigh. Takemichi's stubbornness surely meant serious business.

[What do you want to do with him, ma'am? Should we call security to escort him away?]

I already guessed the purpose of his visit to my company and contemplated what to do. I knew he would come to confront me about the truth related to my husband but I did not expect it to happen so soon. "No, no need. You can send him to my office, Shizune."

[Understood, Ms. CEO.]

I removed my reading glasses and put down the document neatly while waiting for Takemichi to come. As I heard the knock on the door, I called out for him to enter. Takemichi stepped inside, his large amused eyes taking a slight detour around my office before he landed his gaze on me sitting behind the CEO's desk.

My red lips cracked in a composed smile. "State your business, Hanagaki Takemichi." My voice was calm and formal, but less welcoming. In this situation, I wasn't as friendly as I was during Pah's wedding. "The fact that you've been loitering around my company, I know you're not here to exchange warm pleasantries, right?"

Takemichi did not dawdle and went straight to the point. "About Mikey-kun... Where is he, Y/N-san?"

I leaned back against my chair and crossed my legs as I studied his firm expression. I tried to feign innocence. "Why are you looking for him? Didn't Draken-kun already tell you he's busy with his business overseas?"

"Stop lying! Draken-kun already told me the truth! I know you're hiding something, Y/N-san! I've learned that Mikey-kun is now the leader of a notorious crime syndicate and there are rumors you are also involved in it, too!"

My smile dropped into a displeasing frown. It seemed like Draken had failed to dissuade his hard-headed streak one way or another. And this rumor he heard about probably came either from someone knowledgeable enough or working with the police. For instance, Tachibana Naoto. "What Mikey's been doing right now is none of your concern anymore, Hanagaki. I suggest you stay out of his business and mind your own life."

He shook his head vigorously and continued to plead for my husband's whereabouts. "No, I won't! I can't! I want to see Mikey-kun and talk to him! Please tell me where he is, Y/N-san! You know about his dark impulses, right?"
