Chapter 10 - The Dueling Club

I was surprised when Professor Snape joined him up there so I knew this would be interesting since he at least was good at this kinda thing, but then Lockhart said that Severus was there to do a demonstration, I could hear Ron trying to make a bet with Harry if they would destroy each other but I just shook my head, "Professor Snape will win by a landslide." then Lockhart explained what to do before he and Severus started the duel only for Lockhart himself to be flown across the room which had me smile while everyone else just gasped except the Slytherin's who started cheering while I just clapped. Then the dummy got up and back onto the stage telling everyone what Severus had done, I could tell Severus wanted to kill Lockhart right then he had everyone split up into pairs to duel but he was an idiot and placed Draco with Harry, Ron was made to go with Finnigan and Hermione with Bulstrode. He then looked at me as I looked on bored before calling before he partnered me up with Zabini who I could tell was hiding a smile however right in the middle of our duel I was about to put up a shield charm when all of a sudden Kuro showed up making the shield himself stunning me, since she should have been back at the dorm sleeping. "Kuro what are you dong here?" He just wrapped himself around my shoulder's making me sigh before Severus called Harry and Draco to the stage for the blocking lesson which had me sighing when Lockhart tried to teach Harry the blocking spell but lucky for him I had already taught it to him but then Draco called forth a serpent which stunned me but it slithered over to me before staring me deep into my eyes while I looked at it bored daring it to attack anyone. It curled up before just laying there stunning a lot of people but then Lockhart tried to get rid of it only to anger it making me roll my eyes so he turned to the person who was closest and was about to attack when Harry and I told it not to at the same time but apparently not in English, I then walked over to the snake holding out my hand the snake slithered over to me before curling around my wrist, "It's harmless you dolts, you just made it angry with all the screams and the bang." everyone was stunned at that before Professor Snape walked over taking the snake saying he would release it making me nod giving the serpent a silent message not to hurt anyone if it wanted to live. Then Ron and Hermione pulled us out of the room and all the way back up to the common room where they practically grilled us why we didn't tell them that we were Parselmouth's but I just looked at them confused as did Harry but he voiced his question about it which Ron told us meant we could talk to snakes which we already knew since we've done it before which Harry then told them about it which they then told us that only a very few can speak the language of the snakes but the main person who created it was Salazar Slytherin stunned me. Then Harry told them that we had told the snake not to attack Justin who it had landed in front of but then we realized none of them would have known since we did it in Parselmouth they had no idea what we said during that moment before they told us that no one knew what we had said so everything was thinking that we were telling the snake to attack him making me roll my eyes. "Then he's stupid why would I have an animal attack someone when I have two familiar's along with a loyal owl? Would they stay with me if I hurt others'?" That stumped them but I could tell it was finally dawning on them about it but then Harry told them that we didn't even know the language so how could we speak it but they had no idea but I knew that now people would really think we were Heir's of Slytherin. I just rolled my eyes because this whole thing was nonsense I mean it never list's anyone else who is able to use this ability so everyone associates it with something bad like this but it had me wondering if there was a way to find out our ancestry in some way but I knew I couldn't trust Dumbledore with it.

Later that night I could tell that Harry was still going over what we had herd since he kept tossing and turning but I knew that neither of us really knew our family since it was a forbidden topic at the Dursley's but I sighed as he finally calmed down and fell asleep so I fell asleep shortly after but was happy when I woke up the next morning to see snow on the ground which meant that our herbology class was cancelled making me happy. Madam Sprout wanted to make sure the Mandrakes grew up quickly especially with how important everything was with how people kept getting petrified left and right it was understandable, but I could tell that Harry was still upset about all this but Hermione seemed more annoyed today than usual. "For heaven's sake, Harry go and find Justin if it's so important to you." I glared at her before leaving the common room with Harry the castle seemed darker than normal which set about a gloomy appearance but I had to chuckle a little as we saw Professor McGonagall chewing out someone because they turned their friend into a badger before we carried on and wound up in the library. We found some Hufflepuff's but as we were making our way over we heard what they were saying, it seemed like they thought we were trying to hurt Justin which wasn't true then they started talking about other things hinting that it was us that so when we walked over I could tell Harry was upset. Harry tried to talk to them but a Hufflepuff by the name of Ernie kept trying to make it seem like it just because we hated the Dursley's that we hated all Muggle-borns which is a lie and had me laughing about it which just everyone up, "Oh really? If we hate Muggle-borns so much then why are we best friends with one of the brightest one of you lot, and in case you dolts forgot its not the house or family you come from that makes you evil its how you use your magic." I said as I dragged Harry out of there earning a glare from Madam Prince but when we got outside we ran into something very large and solid which knocked us back onto the ground making us smile as we looked up to see Hagrid who had his face hidden behind a wooly snow-covered balaclava, but it couldn't possibly be anyone else as he filled most of the corridor in his moleskin coat. "Hey Hagrid." It was then that I noticed a dead rooster hanging from one of his massive gloved hands which surprised me, "All righ' Harry? Kaito? Why aren't yeh in class?" I smiled at him while thinking for once that I was glad class was cancelled, "Cancelled Professor Sprout wanted to make sure the Mandrakes grew up quickly for the potion, what're you doing in here?" Harry said looking at the rooster in Hagrid's hands, "Second one killed this term, it's either foxes or a Blood-Suckin' Bugbear, an' I need the headmaster's permission ter put a charm around the hen coop. Yeh sure yeh've all righ'? Yeh look all hot an' bothered -." Harry told him that it was nothing before we headed off to get our books for school but we both came to a corridor leading to the Gryffindor dorm when we noticed it was really dark the torches had been extinguished and there was an icy draft rolling through the corridor. We were half-way through the passage when we tripped over something lying on the floor, when we turned to see what we'd fallen over I froze seeing Justin Finch-Fletchley looking like he'd been petrified but then we saw another figure laying next to him only to see that it was Nearly Headless Nick we then saw a line of spiders fleeing the area. I started to feel dizzy again but just then Peeves came before screaming about another attack happening but I blacked out as I grabbed onto Harry who was screaming my name holding onto me tightly, I felt someone pick me up before we left when I woke up again I was a chair sitting in Dumbledore's office with Harry sitting next to me while Dumbledore just as Hagrid walked it saying it wasn't us but Dumbledore apparently already knew that which had him leaving shortly after.

"Ah, you've finally woken up Kaito, now I know you may not like Professor Snape but I would like you to go to him after you leave here and have him give you the potion he gave you last time it seems to be the best thing to help you right now." I nodded understanding but it seemed to hit something off with Dumbledore as we left with him asking us if there was anything else we needed to tell him but we both said no as we left, with us separating so I could go and get the potion from Professor Snape and got it once I told him what had happened before he gave me the potion after a quick scan to make sure that I was alright again after taking it before he helped me back to the Gryffindor dorm. "Get some rest Kaito this seems to be affecting you more than the other's." I nodded heading into the dorm understanding what he meant but before I could Kuro and Sena tackled me making me laugh as I walked up to my dorm room to see Harry sitting there on his bed, when he saw me he sighed in relief making me happy as I sat down on my bed ready to fall asleep after everything that had happened but was surprised the next day when everyone pretty much stampeded to sign there names onto the list of those going home since a ghost had been petrified it terrified everyone. "At this rate well be the only ones left." Ron had mentioned since it was literally just going to be fromm what we know was Harry, myself, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Goyle, Crabbe that we knew off would be left at the school over the holiday which had me worired since I knew they would propably use this chance as a way to get into the Slytherin dorms using the Polyjuice potion but I didn't want to take part in that. I was just happy we would have some peace and quiet during the holiday rather than have people at our back's trying to get us just because they think were the heirs of Slytherin which is a lie we won it by right of Conquest so we aren't the heirs, but was surprised that all of the Weasely family was staying behind as well, although we loved the twins since they made a huge ruckus about what people were saying. They made us laugh one day when they would go ahead of us saying, "Make way for the Heir's of Slytherin, seriously evil wizard coming through..." Percy didn't like it but the twins countered with, "Oh, get out of the way Percy, Harry and Kaito's in a hurry." was what Fred had said but I had to laugh when George said, "Yeah, they off to the Chamber of Secrets for a cup of tea with their fanged servant."
