Bria's POV
I walked to school and met Sarah and Thomas at our lockers.
"Morning," I said.
"Morning" they replied. We walked to English class and sat down in the back of the class.
Our teacher stepped in and behind her walked Diana. I was kind of surprised to see her in our school even though I knew she was coming.
She was wearing a pair of baggy jeans and an acdc shirt and she looked really good. She looked at me quickly and smiled. I smiled back at her. The teacher started speaking.
"Good morning class, as some of you might know, we have a new student again. Diana, would you like to introduce yourself?"
"Hello everyone, I'm Diana Hellworth. I moved from Berlin." she smiled.
"Alright, Diana. You can sit here, next to Alex" our teacher said. Diana took her place and the lesson began.
When the class was finally over I walked over to Diana.
"Hey! Nice to see you," I said, maybe a little bit too excited. Diana laughed and smiled.
"Nice to see you too."
"We are going to our lockers, yours is just beside mine so I can show you the way," I said.
"Thanks"
We walked to our lockers and I showed Diana where hers was. Then I introduced my friends.
"These are my friends Sarah and Thomas. Guys this is Diana." Sarah and Thomas said hi and we chatted for a while before our next class, which was biology.
It was finally lunchtime. We walked to the cafeteria together. Diana, Sarah and Thomas seemed to get along pretty well, which made me glad of course. We ate some pizza in the cafeteria and talked.
"So, you're from Berlin? Are you German?" Sarah asked curiously. She was interested in everyone's birthplaces and the languages they could speak.
"Oh, no I'm not German, we lived in Berlin with my aunt for a couple of years." Diana responded, unbothered by my nosy friend's questions.
"Where are you from then?" Sarah questioned. I glanced at her a little angrily.
"I'm from Australia." Diana answered, she was totally fine with these questions, which was good.
"Ooh, that's so cool!" Sarah said. We talked a bit but then we had to get to our classes. I had French.
I sat next to Georgia, who was already in the classroom.
"Hey." She suddenly said. I looked at her surprised.
"Umm hi?" I said, a bit unsure.
"I just wanted to apologize. I've behaved coldly toward you and it was shitty of me." I hoped she would talk about the kiss. "So I was hoping we could leave it behind and be friends again?" she finished her sentence.
I looked at her, feeling sadness inside me. She wanted to be just friends. I tried to smile.
"Yeah of course"
It was challenging to concentrate on the French class because of Georgia. Finally, the class was over and I left, as quickly as possible. Georgia hadn't said a word about our kiss since the party. I was so frustrated. I walked to my locker and saw my friends there. I shoved my books into my locker.
"You alright Bria?" Diana asked and frowned.
"I. Am. Totally. Fine!" I retorted.
"Jeez, no need to be harsh," Diana answered. I sighed.
"Sorry, I'm just frustrated."
Diana nodded: "May I ask why?"
"It's nothing," I said and grabbed my backpack. "See ya"
I left the school and walked home. As usual, mom wasn't home, so I ate some leftovers and watched TV.
I heard a knock on the front door. I frowned and checked the time. 8 pm. Who would come here at this time? I stood up from the couch, where I had been watching "Riverdale" for hours, and walked to the door. I opened it and to my shock there was Diana.
"Hey." She said and smirked.
"Umm hi? What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Wanna come patrolling with me?" She asked and I noticed she was holding my "night walk" bag.
"Where did you get that?"
"You left it at the cemetery the night we first met. I found it." she shrugged. I nodded and let her in.
"I'm gonna go change my clothes fast, ok?" I said. Diana nodded and I rushed upstairs. I changed into a pair of light blue jeans and my favorite pink hoodie. I ran back downstairs.
"I'm ready to go" I smiled. Diana and I left the house and walked to the cemetery.
We wandered around for a while. We walked past a crypt I had passed on my "night walks" many times. Immediately I noticed something was wrong. I grabbed Diana's arm.
"What?" she asked, on the alert.
"Look at that crypt's door. It's a little bit open" I whispered. We sneaked closer to the crypt. We didn't see any light.
"Stay here," Diana whispered, and quietly opened the door and snuck in. I waited for a couple of minutes. Then I heard Diana's voice: "You can come" I opened the door and stepped in.
The crypt stanked awful. I looked at the walls. There were weird symbols everywhere, and it looked like they were written with blood. I wanted to throw up. Diana was looking at one symbol with a candle in her other hand.
"Is.... tell me this isn't what I suppose it is?" I said and felt a shiver run through my spine. Diana looked me dead in the eyes.
"It's human blood"
