Bria's POV

I caught my breath as I got up from the ground. My flank hurt, so I leaned against the gravestone. I stared at the girl. She looked at me for a moment before walking over to me.

"Are you hurt?" She asked in an accent that sounded very familiar.

"No, I'm fine," I said and tried to move but I whined in pain and leaned against the gravestone again.

"You don't look like it, what if I take you to the hospital?"

"No" I answered immediately.

They would call my home from the hospital, and my mom would find out all about my night walks.

The girl nodded and asked: "Can I take you to my house? My aunt can take care of you"

Now it was my turn to nod. The girl picked me up in her arms and started walking home. After a while, we arrived at the yard of a small house.

The girl put me down by the door but helped me to stand. She opened the door and yelled: "Gabrielle, I need some help!"

A beautiful, about 30 years old, blond-haired woman entered the hall. She looked at me surprised.

"Diana, I didn't know we had guests coming?" She raised her eyebrows.

"I met her in the graveyard, she was attacked by a vampire," Diana said calmly.

"Oh," the woman named Gabrielle answered and led me into the living room.

"Sit there" She pointed at the couch. I sat down and lifted my shirt to show my flank. There was a pretty big, bloody wound. It had probably come from when the vampire jumped on me. Gabrielle examined my wound, cleaned it, and put a bandage on it.

"It should heal quickly." She spoke. Then she took a wet tissue and wiped the blood off of my face.

"There's a little wound on your forehead but it will heal soon too"

Diana came into the living room with three cups of tea. She handed one to me. I drank it gratefully.

"What's your name?" Diana asked.

"Bria Tornanda," I replied.

"I'm Diana Hellworth and this is my aunt Gabrielle Chevrolet."

"You are the vampire slayer," I said before I could stop myself. Diana looked at Gabrielle.

"She is, but how do you know that?" Gabrielle asked slowly.

"I've been reading about vampires in my free time, and I've also read about the vampire slayers. I have a history book about vampires and a diary of a vampire slayer. I wasn't sure at first if it was real, but I believe it is. It helped me learn to recognize vampires and fight them. This town has some vampires and I thought it might be good if someone killed them. So, I took that job." I told.

"You've learned everything yourself?" Diana asked in wonder. I nodded.

"Where did you get those books? The diary and the other?" Gabrielle asked, a little aggressively.

"From my aunt. She had them in her attic. She said that they belonged to some distant relative." I answered. Gabrielle nodded. She looked thoughtful.

"Diana, take Bria home." She said, getting up and disappearing into another room.

Diana and I started walking to my house.

"So, you're coming to our school? Websburg High?" I asked excitedly.

"Yeah, that's what we've planned with Gabrielle. We're going to stay here at least for a while. Gabrielle got a message from someone she knows that something that requires the vampire slayer might happen here soon."

I shivered. Something that would require a vampire slayer? That sounded pretty serious. We arrived in front of my house.

"Well, bye then. See you at school?" I asked.

Diana smiled and nodded. I climbed back into my room and changed into my pyjamas. I fell asleep immediately.
