Diana's POV
I looked at Bria, who seemed like she could throw up any minute. I rushed to her and helped her to sit down on the freezing floor, on a part that didn't have blood.
"Sit here. Everything is gonna be alright." I told her, but I wasn't sure if I even believed in those words. Bria sat on the floor, a horrified look on her face, just staring at the wall.
I looked around. It didn't seem like there had been fighting and I couldn't see any bodies. I stood up and began to stroll around the crypt, taking pictures of the mysterious symbols. I would research them after I would get home. After I took enough photos, I went back to Bria and helped her stand up.
"C'mon. Let's get you home," I said to my shocked friend. I helped her to walk. It took us longer than usual to get to her house, but we finally made it there. I glanced at the watch on my wrist, it showed 9 pm.
I didn't see any cars in front of Bria's house, so I walked to the door and asked: "Bria, can you give me your keys?"
She took her keys from her pocket with shaky hands and handed them to me. I opened the door and walked Bria to the couch. She sat down. Then she started crying hysterically. I sat next to her and pulled her in a hug. I'm not sure how long I hugged her, but eventually, I heard her calming down.
"Who did that?" she asked with a quiet voice.
"I don't know. But I promise I will find out." I held her for hours. I don't know when I fell asleep.
I was startled awake when I heard someone's voice: "Brie, I'm home!" I looked at the speaker, who was probably Bria's mother. She had light brown hair, which was in a bun, and her eyes were blue, unlike Bria's. She looked at me surprised.
"Oh, hi. I didn't know Bria had friends over." she smiled. I stood up from the couch carefully not to wake Bria up. I walked over to Bria's mom and said: "Sorry, Bria invited me to come to do homework together but then we fell asleep. My name is Diana, Diana Hellworth. I'm a new student."
"Oh, that's great! I'm happy that Bria has new friends. I'm Bria's mom, Audrey" she said and walked to the kitchen.
"Are you hungry Diana? I could make some mac and cheese." she came from the kitchen and looked at me.
"Oh, no thanks I'm fine. I was leaving anyways so," I said.
"Oh, okay. you can come over anytime again!" Audrey smiled warmly. I put my jacket on.
"Bye," I said.
"See you again Diana" Audrey answered.
I started walking home and glanced at my phone's clock. 5 am. I hadn't done my English homework. I began walking faster. I started thinking about the bloodstained crypt. It wasn't just some random vampire's feast, no. It had to be something way bigger.
Suddenly I heard a snap. I immediately stopped. I glimpsed around me. I saw nothing but the dark streets around me. I listened carefully. I didn't hear anything anymore.
I continued walking toward my house. I stayed alert, ready to defend myself if anything attacked me. I could swear I heard footsteps behind me, but when I turned around, there was no one. I started walking faster, I didn't prefer to stay in here, it was quite creepy.
Finally, I could see my house. I nearly ran to the door, opened it and slammed it close. I heard Gabrielle running from the kitchen. She ran to me and calmed down.
"Oh, it is you. I got a heart attack, Diana! You shouldn't slam the door that way!" she scolded me.
"Sorry. I'm gonna go to sleep now," I said and walked past her. She looked at me furiously. She hated it when I was snappy, but I felt like my feet were made of lead. I went to my room and fell on my bed.
I fell asleep.
