Why research?

One of the biggest reasons to research is because it adds more depth to the story. Readers will also connect more with your story, and your book has a way to stand out from others in the market.

You want to sound like you know what you're writing about. And the more research you have the easier it will be to write. Plus it's like writing male and female POV; you don't want characters to be stereotypical. And you also don't want to offend anyone.

Now research can seem tedious but the easiest way and best is by reading other books. We're all readers and writers on this site, so this should be fun.

You can read fiction and nonfiction books. And in nonfiction you can study memoirs and textbooks.

Happy researching! And check out the #wattpad4 chat on Twitter on Mondays at 8 p.m. eastern.
