Romance, or the lack thereof

I need to stop romanticising

Every part of my life

I need to stop seeing leaves

And forgetting they'll turn brown after the red

I need to cease seeing a pretty face

And imagining a life together

I can't keep daydreaming

Him, he, they, I won't see again

It's stupid to stop on the sidewalk

When the rain will make me frozen

Why do I imagine ways I could be hurt

When it will only tear me down

What is romantic about

This wretched world we live in?
