Chapter 2
A/N: Hello readers and nerds, Mr Gator here, with another chapter kicking off our hero's journey through the galaxy. Again, he's not going to have any Midichlorians, so essentially to the Jedi and Sith, he's a void in the force. I do have something else in store for him, but he's going to be just the average human from earth. No powers, no supernatural abilities, but like most southern guys I know, he's got a lot of knowledge on mechanical systems. Also, fair warning, I'm going to throw some Catholicism in here because our hero is a Catholic. Thankfully the good kind.

Chapter 2: Name's Thomas, but you can call me Tom

Location: Planet Ryloth

Galactic Time 22BBY

Time 3:00 PM

Normal POV

The planet of Ryloth has been under siege by the Separatist droid army for a couple of weeks, thwarting any resistance they have met. The Separatists didn't care for the lives of the people who got in their way, as long as they had another planet under their control. Wat Tambor, the Skakon leader of the Techno Union, only prioritized in taking Ryloth's treasures for himself as well as growing his wealth and power.

Republic forces protecting Ryloth have now dwindled to a mere 4 clone troopers. Cham Syndulla, leader of the resistance on Ryloth, welcomed the clone troopers with open arms, mostly because they needed the manpower. Despite the addition of experienced warriors to their ranks, the resistance of Ryloth was in desperate need of supplies, such as ammo. Even with the Republic sending them medical supplies and food, without new powerpacks for their blasters, they had make their shots very scarce as to conserve their ammo.

Captain Keeli has experienced this before, so he knew this feeling all to well. Even with his Jedi General ordering him and his men to fall back and help Cham, it cost his General his life. Left with no communications to contact the republic, the only option he had was to scavenge the site of his fallen General and brothers for any weapons or supplies they can use.

While all this was happening, a green skinned Twi'lek approached him.

"Captain, we found something in the river, you might want to take a look at this," the Twi'lek spoke.

The twi'lek led Keeli to the river and the captain thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.

Floating like driftwood, was a young boy. What was even more shocking was that the kid wasn't a Twi'lek but a human. Even with him floating in the river, Keeli could make out his appearance. He was 5'10 with slim build with slight muscle, had long dirty blond hair, had a goatee that looked well kept, and was wearing some clothing and footwear that he had never seen before. He also had a backpack that looked unusual as well. But what shocked Keeli the most was that the kid had multiple cuts, bruises, and wound on his shoulder that looked like he was stabbed by something very narrow and sharp.

"Help me pull him out, he needs medical attention," Keeli said to the female twi'lek as the captain booked it to the river, jumped in and grabbed the unconscious boy and began to bring him to shore.

Catching a rope thrown to him by the twi'lek, Keeli and the boy were dragged out by other resistance members and clones. Once out of the water, Keeli checked the boy's pulse, and thankfully, they found one and he was still breathing.

The female Twi'lek brought over a blurgg that they were using to transport supplies they found on the battlefield, and were instead using it as a makeshift ambulance. Keeli and other members lifted the boy and placed him face down on the back of the Blurrg. Keeli then pulled out his commlink and contacted his trusted medic.

"Patchwork," Keeli spoke with urgency in his voice, "Get a team ready, we got a kid who's in pretty rough shape, we'll be back at camp asap."

"Sir yes sir," replied the medic over the commlink.
