Hello y'all, here is another update in Thomas' story. Sorry for the inconsistent posting, but I have been working on a lot of other things lately such as registering for classes for college, power washing my driveway which took multiple days bc it's long asf(Got sunburned twice bc my dumbass forgot to wear sunscreen). But I promise I'll try to update more consistently when I can.

Things have been taking a drastic turn in the senate. A bill had been presented to the senate to keep the war against the Separatists going. A majority of the senate voted in favor of said bill while senators like Bail Organa and Padme Amidala voted against it in favor of moral responsibility. Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Anakin were watching from afar.
"Glad Thomas isn't here," Ahsoka sighed.
"I agree snips," Anakin said somberly, "I can see why he dislikes politicians."
After the meeting, the Naboo senator and the two Jedi are walking through the senate building, discussing the earlier events. Padme has her worries about the bill that was tabled by Senator Organa.
"You must ask the Jedi council to speak with Chancellor Palpatine," Padme told her secret husband.
"Don't involve me in this," Anakin replied sharply.
"A peaceful solution is the only way out of this morass of war," Padme pleaded.
"That's not my role, Padme," Anakin said.
"Why not?" Ahsoka suddenly asked, "Why isn't it your role? Aren't we Jedi knights? Isn't it our duty to speak our minds to advise the Chancellor?"
Anakin cleared his throat, "Uh, I suggest you teach my young padawan a thing or two about politics," Anakin said.
"After today's debate, I was hoping she learned a great deal," Padme replied hopefully.
"Truthfully," the snippy padawan said hesitantly, "I don't understand any of it. I know the separatists are evil, but all anyone argued about was banking deregulation, interest rates, and, well, almost nothing about why we're fighting in the first place."
"War's complicated Ahsoka," Anakin explained, "But let me simplify it. The separatists believe the Republic is corrupt, but they're wrong, and we have to restore order."
"Maybe talking to the Jedi council isn't the role for you after all," Padme replied annoyed, "Thanks for your help." The senator then turned to Ahsoka, "Come on, Ahsoka."
"Hey..." Anakin exclaimed.
"You told me to teach her about politics," Padme said, "So I'm going to."
Ahsoka looked back at Anakin and gave him a smirk that she knew was going to annoy him greatly.
Cut to Padme's office, where the Senator was expressing concerns about the whole ordeal.
"If only I could talk to senator Bonteri," Padme sighed.
"Who's he?" Ahsoka asked.
"He is a she," Padme explained, "a senator in the confederacy of independent systems."
Ahsoka looked up wide-eyed at the fact that Padme has a friend who's a separatist.
"Your friend is a separatist?" Ahsoka asked, astounded, "One of Dooku's pawns?"
"The separatists used to be a part of the Republic," Padme told the padawan, "I was close with many of the senators who left. I may not agree with them, but they're more than pawns."
Ahsoka stood up, "If you think negotiating is the right thing to do, let's talk to her."
"The senate's made it illegal," the senator said sadly.
