Hello nerds and geeks. We now get to see Thomas' first battle as a trooper with the 501st. Same disclaimers apply. Fair warning, a little more religious teachings than usual.
Chapter 7: D-Day
December 14th 2022, 0600 hours
Normal POV
Venator flagship
Geonosis, an outer-rim planet known for sparking the fire that is the clone war. 200 jedi were dispatched to Geonosis to save 2 of their comrades, and only 21 came back alive. If not for the new clone army, all the Jedi would have been executed that day. With both sides suffering heavy casualties, the Republic was led to believe that Geonosis was under their control again. That belief was proved to be false thanks to Senator Amidala's bravery in discovering the reconstruction of the droid factories previously active.
With this new intel, a fleet of 6 Venator-class Star destroyers and 9 Acclimator-class assault ships were dispatched to the same forsaken place the Jedi wished they wouldn't have the displeasure of returning to.
From the bridge of one of the destroyers stood two Jedi Generals, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ki-Adi Mundi, as they looked towards the same planet where they lost many good brothers and sisters of the order to needless conflict.
"I cannot believe we're back here again," Obi-Wan spoke as he recalled his first visit, from tracking the bounty hunter Jango Fett, donor of the clones, while on an investigation of the assassination attempt on Senator Amidala.
"It is unfortunate," Ki-Adi agreed with his friend. "The resistance from the native Geonosians were stronger than we had anticipated."
"The same can be said for their loyalty to Count Dooku." Added Obi-Wan.
"A fact that is often overlooked," Ki-Adi agreed once again as Anakin and Ahsoka were joining the two council members.
"You're late," spoke an annoyed Obi-Wan.
"Sorry master," Anakin apologized, "Ahsoka and I were busy routing seppies near Dorin."
"My squadron alone had 55 kills," bragged the snippy padawan.
"Yeah, but mine had 76," replied her master with a grin.
Ahsoka rolled her eyes, "Show-off."
"Well I'm glad you two are enjoying yourselves," Obi-Wan said with utter disbelief that his former Padawan and his student were making a game out of war.
"It's just a little friendly competition, Master. Nothing to worry about," Anakin replied trying to ease his master's concerns.
"What I worry about is the way the war seems to be drawing out with no end in sight," Obi-Wan said as he rubbed his ginger beard in concern.
Too many souls were suffering from a conflict that could have been prevented.
"Which is why it is crucial our invasion of Geonosis meets with success," replied Ki-Adi.
Anakin then nodded, "Agreed. Ahsoka, contact the Outer Rim command, we're ready for our briefing."
The togruta teen turned to her master and replied, "They're already waiting for us."
The four Jedi made their way to the holotable for the briefing.

Thomas' POV
After my graduation from cadet to Private First-class, I was assigned to the 501st, the same legion that saved my redneck ass from becoming barbeque by electroshock therapy, much to my surprise and relief of course. I'm just glad to be fighting alongside Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex and the rest of the Republic's Finest.
