Normal POV

Even though their new guest wasn't a warrior, Cham was glad that Thomas was there with them. Originally, Cham thought that Thomas was part of a crew aboard a merchant ship that crash landed on Ryloth. However, what Thomas told Cham was a lot different than the scenarios were going through his head.

Thomas told Cham that he was from a planet called earth. Unfortunately, Cham never heard of earth, much to Thomas' dismay. This gave Cham the impression that Thomas was from a planet in the unknown regions of the galaxy, where very few ships have journeyed into and much fewer have returned.

Thomas was still adjusting to the fact that he was on an alien planet trillions of miles away from home. But something that worried him more was the war that he somehow landed in the middle of in. Unfortunately, Thomas never planned on getting into a war and this was the last thing he wanted.

So instead, Thomas spent some time with helping injured fighters, working on the equipment the resistance was using, and keeping an eye on Hera and the other Twi'lek children in the resistance camp. He even got to read some stories to the kids from a bible he found in his backpack that he forgot about. Thankfully, he chose to read some of the less bloody stories and instead focused on stories that taught good life lessons. When Cham saw Thomas with the kids reading and them enjoying it, especially Hera, he knew he made the right choice in bringing in Thomas.

Despite helping around with camp duties, Thomas refrained from fighting. However, a certain entity above had other plans in store for him.

Thomas' POV

It had been about a month since I arrived on Ryloth, or was it 3 weeks? I lost track of the days because everything seems to blur together now. I had missed my birthday some time ago because I was so focused on helping the survivors out. Now I'm 17, in a world torn by violence surrounded by things that I thought were out of science fiction.

When I first met Cham, the leader of the rebels, I asked him where the hell I was. He told me I was on Ryloth, which he was shocked to find I never heard of before. He had asked me where I came from and I told him earth which to my surprise, he never heard of. Like hello? Home world of humanity? That's I realized that I am a long way from home.

Despite being one of the first aliens I have ever met in my life, Cham gave off a sense of trustworthiness, which in turn, made me quickly trust him even though I just met him. He told me that he could trust me as well after seeing that Hera could trust me. He must really trust his daughter that much despite her being so young.

Cham told me about the conflict the galaxy that his home planet was located in was involved with. Said conflict was the clash between the Galactic Republic Clone army with the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Army. This conflict was most commonly called the Clone War.

The mention of using droids confused me a bit. Then it made more sense once he showed me what said droids were. To say I was shocked was an understatement. At first, it looked like a dumbed down version of a T-800 from terminator. This "battle droid", as they were called, was littered with what looked like burn marks all through out its mechanical body. That's when Cham told me about the weapons both sides use: Blasters. He handed me a DC-17 blaster pistol. It looked like a futurized version of a 9mm handgun. Still, looked pretty damn deadly.
