"He's the only one that matters most to me"

Shailene's POV~

I grasp the steering wheel, nerves are hitting strong. There's no way to know how this is going to turn out. Hopefully, his childish acts are finished and we can deal with this in a mature act.

Theo will be texting me every couple of minutes, I told him to since I'm very paranoid. My eyes spot the cafe and I quickly park in a space. The media shouldn't be around here, that's the last thing I need at the moment.

"Is it really you?" A deep, masculine voice sends shivers down my spine.

I gulp, then quickly smile and turn around.

Lucas was handsome in high school, but he's gone through some changes again and looks even better. His dirty blonde hair is cut into style and his muscles are clearly visible. His piercing blue eyes shine through me like I'm the dark night and he's a flash light.

"Lucas.." I gasp, even though he put me through hell we had amazing memories together.

"Shai baby, it's been too long." He engulfs me an embrace, I pray that no one sees this.

I felt comfortable in his hugs, he was the first to wrap his arms around me in a loving way. Yet, Theo's hugs feel welcoming and protected me from any harm. This is the opposite.

"What do you want Lucas?" I sigh, pulling away from his hug and cross my arms.

"We were having such a good moment, you ruined it." He smirks, clearly proud of himself.

"I'm engaged Lucas and I have a child, we can't happen." I make the point pretty clear.

He tilts his head, thinking of what to say next. I swear if he's going to act like Nahko and kidnap me into another car crash I will literally smash my head against the wall.

"Whatever, then I'll just tell Theo your secret." He cracks his knuckles.

"Already told him."

"You didn't tell him the whole thing Shai, I know you and how you don't want to involve people. We did date for quite awhile." He winks, I feel anger course through my veins.

"Leave everybody out of it Lucas! Be mature and stop trying to pull me back into this whole fucking game! Or so help me I will inform the police of how you just left the girl to die and suffer on the fucking ground!" I shout, I feel as if my body is on fire.

He looks shocked from my outbreak, as to how could I have just defied him. Moments of silence pass and then he began to speak.

"Fine, just remember Shailene... You were the driver of that car and there were no witnesses to say that you were tricked." He flashes the billion dollar smiles and walks away.

I kick the stupid silver chair and grab my hair. How could I have been so stupid? Theo will hate me if I tell him but will hate me even more if my mother tells him.

Theo's Pov~

There's something wrong, as if Shai isn't telling me anything. She came home fifteen minutes after she left, no words came out of her mouth.

I watch as she cradles Luna in her arms, kissing her forehead and admiring her beautiful daughter. Soon enough she will be wearing a white wedding dress and Luna will be our flower girl.

"So, how did the whole showdown go?" I ask, careful not to get on her bad side.

She looks up and responds, "It went and that's that."

Did I say something to offend her? What brought on an attitude like that?

"Shai, are you not telling me something?"

She stares me right in the eye, her cheeks become flushed and she sets Luna back in her swing.

"So now just because I did something horrible that I hadn't informed you about, you have no trust in me anymore?" She growls, grasping her fists.

"No I didn't mean it like that, it's just you've been acting strange and-"

"I knew it! I knew if I told you you'd hate me and won't love me anymore! I'm such an idiot, I shouldn't have told you. I guess you want the engagement ring back, here let me take it off!" She cries, tears falling down her cheek.

What the hell is going on? One second she's normal, then mad, and now sobbing... Is she high or...

"Are you pregnant?" I blurt out.

She takes her eyes off her hand, looks up at me with those sparkling hazel eyes and says, "You're joking right? Now I'm fat?!"

"Oh for fuck's sake! Shailene Diann Woodley what is going on with you?" I ask, desperate for a answer and trying not to say anything else.

She breathes in slowly and then... Begins to laugh, her cute little nose scrunches up and her perfect smile appears. I couldn't help but laugh along too.

"I don't know Theo, I have no idea what went through me. Probably my time of the month is coming or hey, maybe I am pregnant!" She laughs but then stops and realizes what she just said.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" I lean forward to grab my keys.

"I'll go get Luna in her car seat." She laughs and we run to the store.
