"Realize... Real Eyes... Real Lies."

Shailene's POV~

"She texted you that because I was going to accept a new project deal." I gulped, it's partly true.

I had an offer of joining another movie which is called "Snowden". I never told Theo I was going to take it because of Luna. But now, I'll definitely be in it.

"Is it the Snowden one with Joseph Gordon-Levitt?" His expression changes, back to normal.

I bite the inside of my cheek and say, "Yes. I didn't tell you because I thought it was going to sound selfish of me when you'll be busy with your project."

Theo shakes his head, "Shai baby, it's fine. You need to do what makes you happy as well, don't worry about anything else."

I nod my head, pulling him into my arms. His arms wrap tightly around my waist, returning my heart beat back to its original pace. My stomach began to ache, the guilt sinking to the bottom. All these lies will eventually catch up to me, but right now I'll savor these moments with Theo.

"We should pack for our trip, I'll run to the store to pick up any necessities we need." Theo kisses my forehead, making me smile.

Luna is still asleep so this gives me time to call my mother and tell her to leave this to me. I felt backstabbed, I'm trying to fix this by myself and honestly, the situation doesn't even include Theo. There's no reason to tell him.

"Hello? Shai, before you yell please listen-"

"Mother, stay out of my business! I have everything under control and I would appreciate it if you would just let me explain when I'm prepared!" I didn't mean to sound harsh, but I am an adult and its time for me to do this myself.

"You didn't tell him? After I sent him a message, giving you a chance to bring it up and you lied once again?! I never raised my daughter to act like this." Her words strikes my heart, snapping it into two.

She's right, I should have never become this type of person. I keep lying to Theo, but soon it will be fixed. I'll repair it on my own and keep Theo away from the drama.

"It will be over soon. I know what I'm doing, please just leave it alone." I hang up the phone and take a deep breath.

I'm going to find out where Kailie lives and apologize. I will ask her what happened the night, use her as a witness and get rid of Lucas for once and for all. This ends now, I am an adult who will be married and have my own family to look after.

My eyes trace back to my beautiful daughter, everything will be back to normal. This weekend will just be Theo and I, spending some time to ourselves. I'll forget about all this and everything will be fine.

Theo's POV~

I know she's lying, the minute she bit the inside of her cheek I knew it was another fib.

I had to leave the house, before I flipped out once again. Not knowing what she's hiding from me makes me angry, upset, and confused. Does she not trust me? Have I done something to her to make her feel not safe with me?

Shailene used to be so open and honest with me, now she seems cut off from the world. All the time she's either upset or thinking, it must be because of Lucas! That man had to have done something to knock Shai off her balance.

Why wouldn't Shailene tell me that he did something? Does she not want me to worry? All these questions swirl around inside my mind, making my skull ache.
