"Cause your love is my drug."

Shailene's POV~

Luna is in her swing, playing with a rattle and sucking on her pacifier. Theo is out with Miles, running errands therefore my mom will be coming over soon.

I haven't given it much thought to how I'm going to confront Lucas, hopefully my mother will help me. She's the only one who knows the truth, I didn't want to lose my relationship with my father if he had known.

Part of me wants to report Lucas to the police, but then that means I might go to jail since I was driving that night. This is all so complicated, my life was going so well before he came back.

"Shailene Diann Woodley, your mother is here!" My mom sings, walking into the apartment.

I get up from the couch, running to her like a child on Christmas. She brings me into a warm bear hug, I've missed her a lot.

"My beautiful grand baby!" She smiles, Luna looks up with those cute brown, hazel like eyes and spots her grandmother.

My mother sweeps Luna into her arms, smuggling her with tiny kisses. My heart practically melts, a distraction from the horrible, stressful things that are happening in my life right now.

"Okay, what do we have to talk about besides wedding planning?" She smiles, joining me on the couch with Luna snuggled into her side.

I take a deep breath and explain, "Lucas is back. He says I owe him or else he will mess with my family."

My mother's face goes white, suddenly I feel like my heart isn't beating either.

"Oh no, Shai! This is why I should have just made you go to the police station in the first place. I knew that boy was nothing but trouble. What, does he want money or something?" She asks.

I shake my head, "He wants me to be in a relationship with him. Since the media knows everything about Theo and I, I guess he's back for revenge."

"Does Theo know?"

"Partial infomation." I sigh.

"Shailene Diann Woodley! You must tell the man you are going to marry the full truth! You cannot lie about this situation, it is far too dangerous!" She scolds me, half yelling and half whispering.

I throw my head into my hands, biting my lip and trying to hold back the tears. Theo won't stay with me if he knows, it would make me look horrible.

"I can't mom. He won't love me anymore." I choke, letting the tears run.

"Oh sweet heart, if he asked for your hand in marriage of course he will love you no matter what. A proposal is a huge promise, he knows what he's getting himself into. And if you don't tell him all of it, then I'm sorry but I will." She looks at me dead in the eye.

"How long do I have?" I close my eyes, praying that she will give me as much time as I want.

"Three weeks Shailene. That's far too long but I hoping you'll make the right decision. And a way to deal with Lucas, meet him in public. Go out to lunch, make sure the media isn't following you. And tell Theo that you'll be out with him." She orders.

I sigh, realizing that this is how it's going to be. Sooner or later, Theo will know the whole truth. Lucas should be gone, out of my life if we can work this out like adults.

Shailene: Lucas, meet me at the Rose Garden Cafe on Main Street in two hours.

I thank my mother, saying goodbye while she takes Luna since she promised me that she'd watch her today. Theo arrives shortly after, bags of food in his hands. He gives me that award winning smile he has and I practically fall in love with him again.

My phone buzzes, I gulp and read the message.

Lucas: Alright Shai, this should be just like old times. ;)

"Everything okay love?" Theo engulfs me into a hug, I've missed him all day.

"I have something to tell you." I kiss his cheek and continue, "I'm meeting up with Lucas in awhile, to talk things out."

"Okay, as long as he doesn't try to kill you." Theo chuckles and I give him my best fake laugh I could make.

Yeah hopefully it's not like Nahko and that whole incident.

For the rest of the time being, I threw on my pink sundress, pulled my light, brown hair into a small bun while some strands hang. Theo grabbed me from behind, pulling me into him.

"You look breath taking." He whispers, making me blush.

"I know, maybe I should be a Victoria Secret model instead." I wink.

"You're already my model." He kisses my lips, setting fire under my skin.

I rather stay here with Theo and hide away from the real world. Instead, I said goodbye and got in the car to meet Lucas.

This should be good.
