"It's too late to apologize."

Shailene's POV~

Do you ever get that feeling as if you're so upset that you can actually feel your heart break slowly and painfully? Well, that's exactly how I'm feeling right now.

I used to be so bright and happy, smiling towards everyone when Theo and I were together. Now, it's as if dark clouds cover the sun from shining and I can't blame them. I did this to myself and now I suffer the consequences.

Theo and I are waiting silently at the airport, our jet was delayed. Theo just stared at his phone, reading text messages from his family and cast. I couldn't take it anymore, I got up and walked away.

I dialed Miles, he's like a brother and he always makes me feel better, "Hey Miles."

"Shai, what's wrong? You sound like you've been crying?" Miles asks, he sounded concerned.

"Theo and I had a huge fight, said the wedding was off. Miles I don't know what to do, I never meant to hurt him!" I begin to cry, I just let the tears go.

"The wedding was off? That fight sounds pretty serious Shai, what happened?"

"I didn't tell him something that was important because I didn't want him to always worry about me." I sigh, leaning against the wall.

"Shai, Theo cares and he always wants to know how to help you if things go wrong. You should tell him a lot, not everything but a lot so you both can trust each other. Communication and trust are very important in a relationship." Miles explains and I agree with him.

"But, that doesn't give him the right to cancel the wedding over one fucking fight. I'm gonna beat his little British ass for making you upset." Miles growls and I laugh.

"Thank you Miles, I haven't laughed in a while." I thank him and he says it's not problem.

"I'll see you later Shailers, just remember everyone makes mistakes. You live and you learn." Miles says good bye.

You live and you learn.

I walk back towards Theo and suddenly, a wave of confidence flooded over me. We are going to be mature adults and take care of our issues without yelling at each other.

"Theo, we need to talk." I eye him carefully and he sighs.

"Okay, where would you like to start? And please, give the whole story this time." He glared at me and I groaned.

"Theo, shut the hell up with the attitude! I made a fucking mistake for not telling you and I'll live with that for the rest of my life. But now, we are going to be rational and take care of it like adults." I said sternly and we boarded the jet.

"Alright fine, what do you want to speak about?" Theo rolled his eyes and sat down on the leather seat, I sit across from him.

"I'm going to meet up with Kailie, the girl who I hit. And I'm going to try and have us tell our story to the police." I felt sick when I admitted I hit her.

"Your mother told me that you thought Lucas was going to help her but he left her. Do you feel guilty?" Theo looked at me, with eyes that weren't so cold.

Of course I felt guilty, I should have stayed with her instead of Lucas. She wouldn't have been in pain so long and suffered.

"Yes and that's another reason why I lied. I couldn't bare with the thought of you thinking of me like a cold hearted murderer." I laugh weakly and continue.

"Yet, here you are thinking of me like that anyways because I wasn't honest in the beginning. It's okay, I don't blame you. It's my fault and hopefully we can get past it. I'm sorry Theo, I really am."
