"I swear on everything, Trent if you fuck this up for me I'll bury you." I spat, curving a right, a few blocks away from Jo's house. My heart was hammering like fucking wildfire in my chest. My hands were clammy, I've had to wipe them on my pants a couple of times. I felt bad for not seeing Jo after I left Pt the other day. Fucking Trent and his ass causing trouble and I take the blame for helping him.

I'm surprised Coach still has him on the team. The Coachella Valley Firebirds have my heart and soul with this sport. I've been playing this sport all of my life. Granted I tried other things but ice hockey stuck with me since I was 10 years old. Never looked back. Since I have been skiing Jo, or talking to her for that matter. I always wondered what she would look like in my jersey with my number 24 stamped on the back along with my name. Jo screaming her heart out at my game, cheering me on.

"Are you listening to me? I'm hurt that you're not." Trent whined, queuing his fake cry. I rolled my eyes.

"Don't be a baby bitch, Trent." Rolling my car to stop at the red light, I slouched in my seat.

"I said whats there to fuck up?" Trent grinned and licked his lips. "Not like I can take her from you or anything."

"Don't even bring that up, dude I swear to god I will make you walk from here. Keep your eyes to yourself." I growled. The light turning green, I pressed my foot, accelerating down the street.

"Then again, what is there to fuck up man?" Trent asked.

I was quiet for a minute before he inhaled, clicking his tongue.

"I got to you didn't I?" Trent asked, a small grin starting the spread. "About what I told you earlier about falling too hard too fast."

"Dude-"

"I knew it. God I am so good at reading you and I don't even have to be near you!" Trent howled with laughter clapping his hands together adjusting himself in the passenger seat.

"Cole, I know you better than anyone and you know I care for you like a brother. I just don't want you to fall so hard you end up like you were with Bet-"

"Don't fucking talk about her. She no longer exists and you swore you'd never bring up her name again." I snapped a shiver running up the back of my neck. Swallowing hard, I sighed. "Sorry."

"Eh, it's whatever, man. But you know I'm right. Food for thought? Have fun, just enjoy it and take your time man. She's a good person and I like seeing you happy. Just watch yourself. That's all." Trent scratched his jaw and belched. I shook my head and sighed.

"Yeah, I know. I just can't help myself around her sometimes. She looks gorgeous, it's so hard to get to where she's at, and she amazes me every single day, T. Like the other day she made breakfast. And she offered for me to have some. That wasn't needed, she's so much more than what she shows, man. I always keep going back for more she's just so - passionate and sweet, and funny and-"

"Alright alright stop getting that sappy shit on me, and keep your eyes on the road man. I don't wanna die just yet. Not till we make it to the big leagues and you," Trent pushed my shoulder, making me hit him back.

"You get the Captain spot. I have no doubt you will come next season. And a contract ready for you to sign to make the big bucks!"

Trent leaded over and hit my shoulder again, grunting when his fist connected with me. He was such a jackass, but he's been there for me since I was in diapers. He was my brother. A Pain in my ass, but is a true friend.

"How old is her sister?" Trent asked, waving his hand out the window. "Is she old?"

I scrunched my nose. "I don't know, I think she's like 29 or something."
