Date: October 25th, 1985

Location: Hurricane Utah, Police Department.

"This knife was in my room when I got home, and now I hear my wife is dead? What's going on...?" The knife lays on the table, in wrapping to make sure no fingerprints or anything messed with it, for it was evidence in the case.

Henry Rose looked at the Chief of police, but the older man looked back at him in a mix of confusion.

"Mr.Rose, we are doing the best we can, we have multiple cases to deal with and this is no short of emergency. Stick with us, and I promise. We will find your Wife's killer. That knife may very well be the lead we are looking for."

"Well if you guys don't hurry up, I will look for the killer myself!"

"Mr.Rose please, this is nothing a civilian like you should be dealing with, we understand what your going through, some of my own men have lost people important to them. It's not the first time we have dealt with this."

"You don't know who your talking to, She was everything to me!"

"You still have your daughter and son."

"...don't you ever mention them again."

As the green eyed man looked down at the other, Clay Burke looked up at the other, seeing the green eyes full with hatred, and regret.

He looked at the knife, then to the door.

"I am afraid our time is up. You will have to leave."

"Fine. You better find some answers soon." Henry said as he walked to the door.

"Trust me, we are already working on it. Stay safe out there."

"Yeah, sure." Henry said as he left the room, closing the door behind him.

Clay looked at the knife, wondering to himself.

"I wonder....did he is the knife on his own wife....or was it someone else??"

A few minutes later. . .

The knife was in the analysis room, John was checking it over while David watched him.

"How come you get to be the one to check out the knife?" David said looking at the fellow cop, annoyed.

"How come you follow us around everywhere? Your not a higher up, so don't act like it."

"Well just cause I am one of the rookies, doesn't mean I don't get left out all the time on the fun." David said as a comeback.

"...Yes you do. Why do you think no one believed you when you said Dunn left you at Silver Reef? I bet you were just doing it to get him fired and get better pay. Your both rookies, get over it." He said calmly.

David got up from his seat and went up to John.

"You know Xavier, you get along well with everyone, why don't we get along?"

"Cause your a pain in most of our ass's and you tried to hit on Charlotte. She isn't the only female officer here you know. And she is taken."

"By who?"

"By me." John said, shooting a glare at David, who laughs it off.

"Oh come on, you wouldn't be enough to pleasure an ant. Why would Charlie be with someone like you?"

"Well, for one, I am honest, trusting, and kind. You on the other hand are a lowlife, hateful and distrusting. Your a rat, and rats belong in the sewer. So get out of my sight before I put you back where you belong."

The two looked at each other for what seemed to be the longest time, then David spoke up.

"Well that's not very nice of you. We shouldn't argue like we are children, oh. That reminds me, Halloweens coming in a few days. Wouldn't want a trick to get everyone, would we?"

"For once I think that day is something we can both agree on. Let's make sure we don't bite our heads off before then."

David and John shake hands and nod.

As John went back to work, something came up from the knife, a sample of something, but it wasn't blood.

"Fingerprints, from the looks of it they match-...oh my god."

"What, Johnny boy, what's it say?"

"T-the fingerprints.....they match one of our own..."

Suddenly, the power goes out.
