I looked at the woman I thought of as a friend, who I now saw only as an enemy.

"Why...why did you send those two to kill Betty, why did you take her away from me and our.....my..son?" I said, staring Charlie in the eyes, they looked devoid of emotion, as if she had died long ago.

The caring and sweet girl was gone, replaced with this imposter, a sick, twisted woman that had one goal in sight, to avenge her sister. Or was it for her own needs, I didn't know then, and I still don't know now. What mattered then...was to save my son.

"Why did you and your men kill Marla? I didn't like her much, but she was my sister. Sometimes I wish I was the one to have died instead of her, but she got the honor to become a Emily, I was still a Rose, left to wilt in the heat. Mother didn't love me, father did, but lately he has been focused on some knife that Mother used to hurt others. He doesn't even know it's hers. She wanted to frame him, and you, I am not doing this for her, I am doing this for Marla, and Marla only. When your dead, NO ONE WILL MISS YOU!"

The traps had been activated and shot guns, weapons I couldn't recognize, and barrels had started to go off and leak, she was going to set the diner on fire and blew it up from the inside with the three of us in it.

Like a dog that jumped the fence for the first time, I bolted toward Charlie, pushing her out of the way and reached for Carlton, picking him up and holding him close, so I would be the one to get hit, and not him.

He felt lighter than usual, how long had he been here for? It didn't matter, I had to escaped with him safe, and alive.

Charlie hit the ground and tried to get up, I ran past her and she grabbed my leg, causing me to trip, but I regained my balance, I looked down at her and she looked like she was starting to cry.

"It's not fair....I wanted to be acknowledged...I wanted to be heard....but no one cared....each emotion I was given by everyone was fake....no one cared about me....I should had never been born....."

"Your talking nonsense. I care about you, John cares about you, everyone at the police force cared about you...Marla cared about you...Henry cared about you. You were just blinded by revenge to notice." I said, holding a hand out to Charlie to help her up.

Why was I being kind toward someone that took a loved one away from me..? Was it cause she faced the same thing i did?

Charlie took my hand and I helped walk her toward the exit. We had reached the door as the building was heating up when...Charlie pushed me out the door, I made sure not to drop Carlton.

"Charlie, what are you doing?" I said shocked, looking at the woman, her dress looked to be glowing at the now growing fire from the oil in the barrels

"It's Jen's fault. I was born out of that vile woman, I am just as horrible as she is, and she must be stopped. Do it and take that batch down, for me...for your fallen police officers....for your wife...and Sammy..."

"Sammy....your brother?" I said, stareing Charlie once more in the eyes, her eyes were watery, and tears were falling down her cheeks.

"He isn't my brother anymore....Jenny made him into a monster, he was put in a mental asylum and was tortured by that woman for who knows how long...it's where those two crazy people had came from that killed Betty." Charlie said, her faced now looking determines, as if this would bring her peace.

"So she caused all this...?" I asked, a final question to the soon to be deceased woman.

"I checked the files, the very first one was caused by her. She was able to get into people's minds and make them kill themselves, kills others, torture others...anything you can think of...she has done."

"She was able to hide and destory evidence leading to her....okay...I'll do it. Thanks Charlie." I said, seeing her getting ready to close the doors, as if that would stop the blast getting outside.

"Don't thank me yet. She has hold of four other people. Kill her. Then you can thank me." Her brown eyes twinkled in the night, and she closed the door. Then I remembered the barrels, gun powder and other things in the building. I turned away from the diner and ran to my car, getting Carlton in the passenger seat, and before I got into the driver's seat, the booming sound was heard, and the diner exploded. It looked beautiful, but at the same time, horrible...
