She isn't drunk anymore, thank god.

Actually, now she tries to talk to me.
Damn.

"Lucas, please just-"

"No, Riles." I said quietly. "I'm only here to take care of you before your folks get back. That's it."

She hushed, putting her head down, then leaning back onto the couch, pillows around her.

I shook my head. Dammit, Riley.

I took a sip from the coffee I made as I watched Riley sleep quietly on the couch.

I yawned, leaning back in my chair.

BEEP!

I jumped. Fuck.

Farkle: Yooooooo
Lucas: What?
Farkle: You with Riley aren't you.
Lucas: How'd you know anyway?
Farkle: Maya, der.
Lucas: 😒
Farkle: I know you guys aren't friends or all, but you know.
Lucas: Whatever, gotta go, Farkle.
Farkle: Okay, bye Friar.
Lucas: Bye Minkus.

As I looked up, Riley was already in front of me.

"What happen?" She asked softly.

I scratched my head. "Just go back yo asleep, Riley."

She shook her head. "I'm no longer sleepy."

I looked at her. "Then just sit down."

She paused, nodded, and walked back to her couch.

She fell asleep.

All she needed to do was lay down.

I yawned, walking to the other side of the couch. I stretched out my arms, yawning again.

I looked outside. Dark.
Checked mah watch. 12 midnight.
Damn, where are her parents?

I frowned as I closed my eyes, and let myself fall asleep.

I woke up with a yawn.

I scratched my head, listening to the birds chirp outside.

I smiled, a pleasure warmth surrounding me.

I felt Lucas's arm around me.

I shook him awake. "Lucas, wake up."

He woke up with a jolt. "What now-"
He glanced at me. "Oh, Riley."

He pulled his arm back, slightly blushing. "Errm, your parents never came home."

I chuckled. "I forgot to tell you. My parents are at Chicago for a business trip; its my mom's, but my dad went along."

Lucas shook his head, smiling. "Nice, Riley. Just nice."

He got up. "I'll make some eggs."

I nodded quietly. "Okay."

-

It is silent as we eat.

The eggs are delicious, just enough salt and yolk to create perfect harmony.

Suddenly-

"Riley, I don't understand why you did it."

I rolled my eyes. "So it's my fault again, huh?"

He put down his fork. "Riley, you did it first. Officially."

He rolled his eyes, partly hurt. "'Revenge', huh?"

I sighed. "I tried apologizing, Lucas."

I got up from the dining table and opened the door. I can't take this anymore.

"Lucas, you never listened to me! Why are you willing to now?!" I threw a hand through my hair. "Is it because I'm weak now? I'm hungover?!"

I ran out of the house.

Footsteps followed.

"Riley, just answer me! Why did you do it? Riley!"

He pulled me back. "Riley!"

He cupped my face in his hands.
"I'm sorry, Riley."

He kissed me.
