Huntress and the Winchesters realized the pattern that creature is targeting, and all led to Adam. They all decided to put Adam in safety at his house, then Dean ordered him to get his stuff together to escape from the trap in town. Sam was sitting on the kitchen table while he fixed his injured ankle on a chair.

Sam announced his thoughts, "We shouldn't leave."

Dean responded sarcastically, "Yeah, let's stay here, where the kid's mom got ganked. Good one."

"I'm serious."

Karina stared at Sam when she was getting an idea from him. Her rage was building up inside while Dean was talking. "No, Sam, we're gonna drop him off at Bobby's, and then you, Kay, and me are gonna come back here and finish what Dad started."

Sam put an ace bandage on the ankle while he was proving his point, "How? We got no leads, no witnesses. We do have what this thing wants."

Karina exclaimed with fiery eyes at him, "You are not telling us you want to use Adam as bait." Sam was quiet as he signaled his answer, "Are you serious!? That's the reason you want to stay here?"

"Maybe this thing will come back. We could train Adam--get him ready."

Karina shouted, "He is an innocent human being that could die, Sam!"

Sam faced her, "We could all die, Karina. Even if we do kill this thing, there are tons of other freaks that want revenge-- on Dad, on us." Dean was taken aback by what he was hearing the same with Karina. He realized that she wasn't lying; he was a different person in how he was talking. There is something wrong with him as he continued on, "What if they find the kid instead and he's not ready?"

Karina shook her head, disgusted, then she shared a glance with Dean. I told you, didn't I? Dean read her mind, the moment Adam entered the room with his backpack. "I'll do it. Whatever it takes, I'll do it. I want to do it." They all looked at each when they all took in Adam.

While Dean and Karina were overlooking Sam's training with Adam, they were both quiet at the hypocrisy. Sam and Adam were in the kitchen together when Sam informed all the weapons that supernatural get killed, "So, then we lit it on fire."

Adam exclaimed with a smirk, "With a homemade flamethrower?"

"Yeah. They're easy to build. I'll show you."

"That's some job you got, man."

Sam paused for a moment until he spoke to him, "Being a hunter isn't a job, Adam. It's life. You're Pre-Med. You got a girlfriend, friends?" Adam nodded, then Sam spoke softly. "Not anymore you don't. If you really gonna do this, you can't have those kinds of connections, ever. They're weaknesses. You'll just put those people in danger-- get them killed.'

Dean looked away with an exaggerated smirk while Karina was standing beside him, arms crossed. Sam looked over at them before he continued, "That's the price we pay. You cut 'em out, and you don't look back. There's only one thing you can count on-- family."

As Dean asked Sam to have a private conversation with him, Karina looked after Adam who was reading more lores. She slowly backed away toward the wall, eavesdropping from her ear while her eyes were on Adam.

"What the hell was that?" asked Dean.

"What?"

"'Hunting is life. You can't have connections." Dad gave that exact same speech, remember? It was just before you ditched us for Stanford. You hated Dad for saying that stuff, and now you're quoting him?"
