Story's I wrote for Class

January story prompts

A/N: ok so I know I said and I quote "I would also like to say that i plan the last post (as of right now) of this story being a bunch of different very short stories that we write at the beginning of class daily" in the A/N chapter but I changed my mind I'll probably end up posting them at the end of the month (or around that time) and while yes some days will be skipped because me being gone that day or because of the weekend also for these we were given prompts some images some actually writing prompts and the image ones will have the words "image of" in the quotes. I'd also like to add that most things I write tend to lean towards horror and have gore and death so I guess that's a warning for this whole book.

"it was just ridiculous enough to be true"
"The dog is on the roof!" was the first thing I heard come out of my brother's mouth that morning. It was quite absurd now that I think about it; We lived in a one story house, how would the dog even have access to the roof. But when he dragged me outside the house that morning and saw there was indeed a dog on our roof, just not our dog. Now that I think back to it, it was just ridiculous enough to be true.

"Open your eyes."
Standing here overlooking the pier was one of the most serene places to be, she had always loved watching the ocean waves splash against the rocks below, along with the salty smell in the air, she loved it here. "Open your eyes" she heard, and suddenly the view was gone and she was back in the suffocating city she hated so much.

"Kelsey had a problem."
Kelsey had a problem, she didn't think the weather would get this bad, but it did and now she is staring at her car that had all the windows down, covered in snow. She knew she should have checked the weather forecast last night but she was too busy. So now here she is an hour late for her lecture standing in front of her snow covered car.

"Parades are supposed to be celebrations."
Standing in the middle of the crowded area on the side of the street as all the floats went by, he noticed a commotion out of the corner of his eye. It was a group of protesters, he wasn't sure what they were protesting about but he did notice that they were making quite a ruckus and couldn't help but think to himself, "This is ridiculous. parades are meant to be celebrations, not riots."

"Ostrich picture"
Looking at the prints in the sand before her, Mia was confused as to why there were heel prints in the sand. Who in their right mind would wear heels in the desert? It's obvious that they would sink in the sand, but now it looks like someone full on sprinted down the sandy path in heels. Looking up she notices something in the distance, an ostrich wearing pink sparkly high heels. It was safe to say that this experience was always quite the conversation starter at parties.

"A christmas picture with snow and tree"
Walking towards the giant red building, she saw the shining lights of the lit up trees in the distance. She had absolutely no idea how she got here in this blizzard in the first place, but what she did know was that she was freezing and definitely not wearing the proper clothes to be out in any sort of cold weather. Nevertheless she kept walking, noticing that the closer she got to the big red building, the more decorations she noticed. She thought it was kind of odd to see this many Christmas decorations around this time of year because Christmas had passed months ago, but she figured to each their own.

"Image of Bunnies on the moon"
It was a late night in Autumn, and the moon was shining brightly in contrast to the dark sky. She couldn't help but stare. It was quite a beautiful sight, although she wished she could stay there staring all night, she knew she sadly could not and instead closed her window and went to sleep.

"Image of a sailboat and sunrise/sunset"
The smell of the salty air along with the gentle waves crashing against the boat was one of her favorite things about being at sea, it had always had an effect that made her even more sure of her decision that this was where she wanted to be. She had always felt some doubts about leaving behind her friends and family in the crowded town that she grew up in near the coast, but these were some of the moments that made it worth it.

"Image of a man holding a banana out using another banana as a phone"
Geoffrey walked into work that day expecting to see his coworker working like usual, but today was not what he was expecting at all. Walking into the building Geoffrey noticed his coworker Brad at his desk holding a banana up to his ear like a phone, confused Geoffrey asked Brad what he was doing. Brad just shushed him and continued like he was on a call then turned to Geoffrey and shoved the banana at him with a quick "it's for you." and walks into the other direction like nothing happened.

"The child on the farm could hear the thoughts of the animals."
Walking through the barn and past the pens, Charles could hear the thoughts around him. Granted he couldn't understand the language they were in, only bits and pieces. Sometimes when he would walk home from school he would hear thoughts that he understood for once coming from the raccoons in the bushes of world domination.

"He was pretending to be a spy"
Being escorted down the fancy looking hallway, Jerry couldn't believe he had gotten himself into this situation in the first place. He had gotten caught by the guards while taking photos of all the exits and exit plans. Him doing this must have looked suspicious, which was kind of what he was going for but he didn't think it would escalate like this. After all he was only just pretending to be a spy because of a stupid dare.

"Purple forest image"
Walking through the extravagant forest, Kate felt a sense of unease. The scenery around her was beautiful, almost too beautiful to the point that Kate could hardly believe it was real. Hearing the snap of a twig to her right followed by a giggling sound, Kate turned to investigate only to just barely see a glimpse of a humanoid looking creature before it ran off and everything around her disappeared and she was back at home laying paralyzed in her bed.

"Image of a bunch of people holding hands on the beach in front of a sunset"
The sun was setting as the group stood in a line on the beach letting the small waves brush across their feet. "So this is it huh?" one of them muttered, "well it was nice while it lasted," the one next to the previous voice replied.  The sun was now almost completely gone now as another voice spoke "I guess i'll see you guys on the other side.'' The sun was now gone as they all faded away.

"Image of a cat playing on a phone"
Mr. Snuffles was always quite an odd cat, so when his owner Henry entered his living room that day searching for his missing phone, Henry wasn't surprised to find Mr. Snuffles staring intensely at the lit up screen. What did surprise Henry was what was on the phone along with the glare Mr. Snuffles gave him when he took it away. On the brightly lit screen was an article with a title in big bold letters that said "How to plan world domination for dummies."

"Image of a house in the fall with pumpkins in the front"
While hiding in the bushes of their History teachers house, the three teens stared at the masterpiece they had created and giggled. The look on their History teacher's face would be amazing when he got home and saw the mess of the toilet paper and broken eggs that had now decorated the outside of his home.

"Claire watched the hot air balloons."
Claire gazed into the sky at the colorful balloons floating in the sky. She could vaguely see silhouettes of people in the baskets. Looking over at a pink balloon with purple polka dots she noticed one of the silhouettes leaning over the edge, and like most would predict when seeing this the silhouette fell into the lake below with a splash. Walking to the edge of the lake Claire watched the surface of the water hopeful for the silhouette to emerge; but it never did. Since that day, Claire only just watched the hot air balloons, instead of ever considering riding in them.

"Ralphie tried to find different shapes in the clouds."
Raphie was lying on the ground with a gaping wound in his chest, surrounded by a pool of his own blood. He knew that nobody was around to help him and even if there was there was nothing they could do so instead of fighting and dwelling on it, Ralphie tried to find different shapes in the clouds, right as he was about to take his last breath he noticed one of the clouds were shaped like the strange birthmark he had on his hip.
