My computer had been acting strangely for weeks. One day it wouldn't start. One day it wouldn't shut down. Then there was the internet fiasco where the computer spent an entire day doing bizarre random searches. But the last straw came when my best friend emailed me demanding to know why I had sent them such a frightening email. But I haven't sent any email. It wasn't in my send files, but when a friend forwarded the email to me, I realized something was very wrong. I decided to replace the computer. It was long overdue anyway, and I just couldn't stand any more "malfunctions." But that night, I heard a strange sound from my desk. I then awoke and found the room filled with an ominous red light. I got up slowly heading towards my computer clutching one of my stuffies as if it could protect me.

"What am I thinking? This is just stupid, I'm going back to sleep." I said to myself, As I lay back on the bed and slowly drift off into a deep slumber. It was anything but peaceful, there was a figure with glowing red eyes, and what looked like a porcelain face. It screamed at me telling me to listen to them, listen to who? What does this thing want with me? It's like it's going to drive me insane. I thought to myself. I watched as the porcelain face began to crack and crumble away "Stay..stay...STAY WITH US!" the voices repeated over and over, and kept getting louder and louder. I bolted upright in a panic, I was awake but the voices wouldn't stop. I had always heard them but they were never this bad, usually they were just dormant and distant. I then realized that the scarlet light was now brighter and the room was now illuminated with a scarlet color. "Relax it's just a dream." I said as I tried to reassure myself. but wait, I thought to myself in a panic this can't be, because if this was a dream I would never realize till I woke up. "Maybe it's just a virus I'll just run a background check." As I approached the computer I noticed I could hardly see my reflection, strange I thought. I leaned in for a closer look, the scarlet color changed to pitch black. The figure from my dream appeared, and I felt the cold lifeless claws as they slowly tore my flesh away revealing the muscles where my face used to be. I felt an unbearable pain, when I looked at my reflection again a faceless figure stared back.

I could hear the voices scream for me to come to them, and as I listened to them, they got louder and louder until I could not bear them any more. As I looked at the screen, I could see my reflection slowly changing. I felt my body slowly start to disappear, as the voices tell me to give in, to stop fighting it and for once, I let it take me. I listened as the voices got louder, like they were chanting and then silence. Finally, I was at peace.
